With such talented siblings, is Josh Allen the best athlete in the Allen family?

Josh Allen has been one of the most polarizing figures in the NFL draft history. From being called a second-round pick to becoming the perspective no. 1 pick, people had extremely different opinions about the QB’s abilities. Who knew that the boy from Firebaugh, California, would be contending for the MVP award in the NFL one day? Regardless of his current stature, the eventual no.7 pick has always emphasized the importance of his roots and how his life at his family farm gave him the tools to succeed.

Similar to a crop grown on the field, Josh also had to face the rainy season before reaping the fruit of his labor. Even without scholarships or replies to his 1000s of emails, he persisted and eventually, a coach approached him. After that, it has all been uphill for Allen. Allen Wrench’s parents have reiterated the importance of the cotton farm in his life, but they forgot that even more important than the farm were Allen’s co-farmers: his siblings.

The QB’s parents, Joel and LaVonne, had four children together: two sons and two daughters. Josh has a younger brother named Jason Allen, who is a year younger than him. Despite the age gap, the brothers almost looked identical and were often confused as twins. As per ESPN, Josh and Jason were “often the two best athletes at every sport they took on.” They competed in every sport they played and pushed each other to be better every day.

Unlike the Buffalo Bills‘ star, Jason did not pursue football and earned a degree in Agriculture Business from Saddleback Community College, located in Viejo, California. Initially, Jason tried to make a career in baseball, but that didn’t work out for him. But with a degree in Agriculture Business and a family history in farming, Jason is sure to expand more than 1000-acre farm even further. Unlike Jason and Josh, we don’t know much about their sisters.

What we know is that Josh’s elder sister, Nicala is happily married, with a three-year-old boy named Kashtyn William Madden. Allegedly she is expecting another child soon. When Allen got his NFL contract, she remarked that nobody deserved it more than Josh. No. 17 also has a younger sister named Makenna. It turns out she is treading the same path as Josh. When Josh was young, he used to play multiple sports, and similar is the case with Makenna. She plays volleyball, basketball, and softball all at a professional level. But her love for basketball is more than her love for other sports. Regardless of the sport she chooses, she has a great mentor to guide her, and Allen himself said that Makenna does have some good genes to support her.

With so many siblings, it does get hard sometimes, but the love stays the same. The siblings have had fights but have always stood for each other when it mattered. And sometimes it got so heated that the only solution was good old boxing.

Jason and Josh: the two ends of a spectrum

When you are brothers of a similar age and a similar build, things can get rough sometimes, and similar was the case with Josh and Jason. They would often compete and duke it out to see who is better. Sometimes this on-court rivalry turned into a knockout contest between the brothers. Once, during a basketball practice session, instead of the ball, the brothers started throwing punches at each other.

Once the argument got heated, culminating in Josh throwing the ball at Jason. Jason charged and punched Josh, giving him a black eye. Their teammates quickly rushed to the court to stop the skirmish. A furious Josh left the court, got in his car, and drove off, leaving Jason to find his own way home. Then the coach had to call their father, and it’s pretty safe to say it was a rough dinner for the brothers.

But then again, you only fight someone you care about, and the siblings have had their fair share of fights. All in all, the bond between the siblings is as strong as ever. All of them regularly attend Josh’s games and support their brother.
