Tom Brady was calling the Buffalo Bills–LA Rams game on Sunday Night Football on December 8. Per the 7x Super Bowl winner, the Bills’ 44-42 loss to the Rams could have ended differently if they hadn’t chosen a quarterback sneak in the end. The Bills used a timeout after an unsuccessful attempt to score and in hindsight, that might not have strategically been the best idea.
Josh Allen made history in the NFL tonight, but the cost was too heavy. It started when the Bills WR Amari Cooper drew an offensive penalty on a pass interference and landed the Bills to Rams goal line. It was all about playing smart from that point. The Bills OC, Joe Brady, called for a QB sneak that failed. The clock was running out, the Bills were down by 44-35 and they had three timeouts left.
The Bills decided to burn the timeout and run the ball instead. That’s what Tom Brady had a problem with. “To me, take three shots thrown and don’t use a timeout,” Brady said withe one minute left on the clock. “Even if they score, what’s the big deal? They’re gonna have to go for an onside kick. I don’t like that one bit. It could have just cost them the game right there.”

The Bills nightmares came true when Allen was stopped short on the run and the game was essentially over. The media confronted Allen about the last play. “Josh, on the last time you got off the goal line, was that the call to go to the run because you guys ended up using a timeout there and might have cost you a chance to stop the clock at the end?”
“Yeah, I got to find a way to get in,” the Bills QB replied, stating further that he tried to run the call the best he could. His biggest mistake despite throwing for 342 yards and six touchdowns? Not scoring enough in the first half of the game. The Buffalo team scored four touchdowns in the second half of the game but just two in the first half.
Allen Bombarded the Rams with touchdowns, starting with Khalil Shakir’s scoring on a 51-yard pass in the third quarter. The Bills turned it into a touchdown fiesta in the last quarter, with Allen running for two more and scoring another one a 21-yard pass to Mack Hollins.
Allen had a 6-touchdown game and made history. He became the first QB in Buffalo Bills’ history and in the NFL to ever have three rushing touchdowns and three passing touchdowns in a single game. Allen looked unbelievable in the snow game against the Niners too so no one was expecting the Bills to lose in such conditions. But this game just made more of a case for Josh Allen to lead the MVP conversation.
Despite his unparalleled performance, the Bills QB was upset with the outcome, which is warranted.

Offensively, we have to find ways to score before and after the half. We didn’t do our part.” But things could have been better if the Rams didn’t block that kick and return it for a touchdown. That was an anomaly.

Allen made it look like he’s playing Madden out there, though. However, going forward, the Bills might have to start scoring early and all they can do right now is learn from the loss and move on. They’re up against the Lions next, a team as gutsy as them, if not more. The Detroit team is on a roll, having won 11 games in a row now. Buffalo needs to polish their offense before they head to Ford Field for another Sunday Night Football game on December 15.
