Buffalo BillsJosh Allen had recently injured his right shoulder during the game against the New York Giants. He featured on the injury list for the following weeks. There were added scares when he landed awkwardly on the same shoulder during Thursday’s Buccaneers match, and he was not in a good enough shape to continue.

So, when Allen remained out of Wednesday’s practice due to the same issue, matters started getting concerning with the quarterback. However, in a recent press conference, Allen himself assured that the decision was nothing to fear. He revealed his current health status, updating the awaiting audience about his match availability.

Talking to the press post-practice, Josh Allen seemed to be all smiles. When asked about him missing the practice session, Allen said that the decision was to rest the shoulder area so that he could be available for the Sunday game. Per the QB, his right shoulder had already been overworked in the past few weeks and he didn’t participate in a lot of drills to make sure it was not sore.

“Yeah, I mean talking with the training staff and just having a plan with Nate Breske, just obviously a lot of moving parts. But didn’t do too much today, just taking it easy and just making sure that, you know, I’m putting myself in the best position for Sunday.” The footballer was also quick to add about the lack of throwing on the field the previous days, saying, “So didn’t throw a lot today and hopefully back tomorrow, be on the field like nothing happened.”
He was then asked about the condition of his shoulder and what he felt about it. In reply to that, Allen insisted that it was unfortunate to happen to his throwing shoulder, but will not take much time to recover. “Yeah, I mean obviously unfortunate when it’s your throwing shoulder, and as a thrower, you don’t like feeling any sort of… I wouldn’t even call it pain, just discomfort in there. And so we’re just trying to stay on top of it and get ahead of it while we can.”
Allen concluded it saying that he still wants to practice and expects the decision will help him remain available for further training sessions and their next game. The question arises, though, about why is the QB so pumped up about Sunday’s game despite his discomfort. The answer lies in the opponents he faces that day.
