“I just got to find a way to get better,” said Christian Watson before the week 12 matchup against the 49ers. And it looks like he indeed has a lot to improve. Though the Packers won the game 38-10 in an outstanding fashion, the receiver made a mistake on a pass by Jordan Love pass which he wouldn’t like to repeat. It made everyone in the NFL world go crazy, including the GOAT Tom Brady. But before we get to that part, here’s what happened during the game…
Late in the second quarter, the Packers—facing first-and-10 at their opponent’s 49-yard line—were leading the 49ers 17-7 when QB Love launched a perfect throw to his WR. It looked like Watson would surely pull off a touchdown. But nope! He fumbled it. Fans gasped at his mistake. But not taking it too much to the heart, the WR finished the game without any reception and had 1 rush for 4 yards.
After the game, when asked about it, he didn’t make any excuse and replied, “I just dropped it,” before adding, “Wasn’t thinking anything. I didn’t not see it, I saw it all the way. I just dropped it. The feeling, it just sucks when you have a play like that and you’re able to dust the defender and you know it’s a walk-off touchdown, especially a 2-minute scenario, get some points on the board before the half.”

“It’s a (crappy) feeling, but it’s another one of those — mistakes are going to happen in a game, you’re going to have a negative play. You just have to find a way to move on. Definitely down in that moment, but just try to visualize myself back into it, visualize the play again with me catching the ball and hoping it goes my way next time.” Keep in mind, this was Watson’s first drop of the season.
Entering Week 12, Watson (who was a second round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft) had 20 receptions for 383 yards and two touchdowns in nine games. So, as expected, Tom Brady was hardly impressed at the WR’s poor showing…

“You can not throw a ball better than that. That is not the highest degree of difficulty catch for caliber of talent that he (Watson) has had,” the veteran said.
While Jordan Love would also be disappointed with Watson’s fumble, Brady’s praise will lighten him up. TB12 was in awe of the quarterback’s talent and said, “Oh man, what a throw by Love.”
Matt LeFluer, on the other hand, shied away from commenting on the supposed shortcoming, and instead decided to concentrate on their upcoming clash—facing the Miami Dolphins Lambeau Field on Thursday night. “Getting ready for a quick turnaround right here, but I thought our guys competed. Some great display in the second half of just playing complementary football in terms of getting the takeaways and then turning those into touchdowns. Like I said, we’ll enjoy it for a few minutes, and then it’s on to the Miami Dolphins.”
After a tough 20-19 win against the Bears in week 11, the Packers QB was ready. He was all in, winning against the 49ers as well. It was a revenge game for the Packers after losing the divisional playoff game last year.

Jordan Love got his revenge on the 49ers
The Niners Empire is getting crushed, particularly in the revenge games. They couldn’t take revenge on the Chiefs in week 7, and couldn’t stop the Packers from taking revenge in week 12. In the post-game presser, Jordan Love was elated and said, “Coming off the playoff loss last years, you know, we wanted to see those guys. It feels good, and I think any win feels good.” The intensity reflected on the ground, too.
With 13 of 23 passes (56.5% completion rate) in 163 yards with 2 touchdowns, Jordan Love led his O-line. He might have felt bad when Watson missed that pass, but isn’t thinking much about it. Mistakes can happen during the game. The team will be working on those in the practice.
