The Packers are probably heading toward witnessing a Mass Exodus after this season. Well, for the 14th straight season, the Vince Lombardi trophy won’t be heading to Green Bay. So, with the failure to retrace postseason success, the Packers are slowly moving on from quite a few players. And to start the proceedings, their 2-time All-Pro CB Jaire Alexander leads the way out of Green Bay.
After the Packers’ wildcard exit to the Eagles, Alexander gave a cold shoulder to the media. Risking NFL punishment, the 27-year-old said he doesn’t even know if he will be here next year. So, he didn’t have anything to say and wasn’t interested in talking. Well, the Packers’ season might have been after the wild card game loss, but Alexander had bid adieu to it in week 11. He entered the injury reserves after undergoing surgery on his knee. And considering how he has struggled with injuries, the Packers won’t be taking any risk to keep him on their payroll beyond this season.
Over the last two seasons, Alexander has missed 34 out of Green Bay’s 68 games. His struggles with injuries on his shoulder, knee, and groin have made it difficult for him to recover completely. And since 2022, when he recorded 56 total tackles and five interceptions, his numbers have taken a nosedive. Jaire has only racked up 43 combined tackles in his last 14 games for two years. So, as he prepares to enter his eighth season in the NFL, Alexander might not do it in Green Bay.

He still has two years left on his $84M contract, signed back in 2022. However, his cap hit in 2025 would be $25.4M. But the moment the Packers decide to release or trade him to another franchise, that cap hit would go under $18.1M. So, the decision lies in the hands of Packers GM Brian Gutekunst. Will he like to keep their former first-rounder despite the risk of injuries? Or move on to other targets. Well, Packers TE Tucker Kraft already has a message for his team after their season ended on Sunday.

Tucker Kraft puts forth his name as the mass exodus continues in Green Bay
The mass exodus vibes are certainly building within Green Bay. We can say so because Jaire Alexander isn’t the only player who might not return next season. Their two-time All-Pro kick returner, Keisean Nixon, wants to become a cornerback, “I want to be CB1. CB1 is not doing kick returns. That’s what it is,” Nixon said after the Eagles defeat. But whether he can land that role in the Packersis a completely different question. See, Nixon has played 93.7% of the Packers’ defensive snaps this season while racking up seven pass breakups and three forced fumbles. So, he clearly has the potential, and with Jaire Alexander possibly leaving, Nixon could take that role next season.
But besides the players not returning after this season, the Packers’ sophomore TE had a strong message for his locker room- “wake-up.” After failing to progress beyond the wildcard round, he said post-game, “The whole last few games we played, you could kind of feel what was brewing for us. We just didn’t finish.” Well, it was another familiar defeat for the Packers, whose season started with a loss against the Eagles in Brazil. And this time also, the Cheeseheads failed to show any character against an Eagles side that dominated from beginning to end.

Now, with the onset of 2025, Kraft believes he has the potential to step up as a leader in Green Bay. Judging by his second season in the NFL, where he caught 50 catches for 707 yards while scoring 7 TDs. He has already proven himself on the field. But can he deliver as a captain of the Cheeseheads as they prepare to opt for an overhaul next season?
