Not a happy ending in the regular season for the Green Bay Packers, but at the end of the day, they’re still in the playoffs. And after the Chicago Bears clinched a thrilling win over them, the Packers now have an opponent for the wild card round of the playoffs. You’ve heard that right, folks! The Green Bay team will face the Philadelphia Eagles on Lincoln Financial Field. However, one question remains a mystery: Will QB Jordan Love play or not?

The QB had sustained an elbow injury during the showdown against the Bears while attempting a throw in the second quarter. When asked about his injury, Love stated, “I just I landed on it on the ground. I just kind of pretty much lost all feeling in my hand and pretty much just went numb.” Well, he took some practice throws after that. Talking about that he said, “Same thing after the halftime. I came back and was trying to get some throws, and same thing. Really couldn’t feel it, was pretty numb. And we just made a decision to hold me back.“Still not feeling 100% right now. Man, that’s just adding insult to injury.

After Love left the field, the doctors examined his throwing arm and near the end of the second quarter, Love was questionable to return to the field. That’s pretty much cost the Packers their game. However, the big picture is despite the Green Bay team having already made it to the playoffs, the head coach, Matt LaFleur, had no plans to rest his key starters.

When asked about his thoughts on playing the starters ahead of the playoffs, the HC stated, “The right answer is, whatever works is, and I think you’ve got to have a philosophy on what works best for you. We were in a similar situation a few years back, where we played the guys a half and lost in the second half, and then we had the bye, and then we lost in the playoffs.” Looks like LaFleur remembers the history very well.

So what’s the lesson learned from the history? He continued, “So, the right answer is, whatever works is really what I’ll tell you. And I know you’re subject to criticism, and if it goes great, then that was the right way to do it. And if it doesn’t go the way you want it to, then, you know, you learn from every experience.” Pretty wild, huh? However, all things considered, that doesn’t actually go their way. The team lost to the Bears with Love’s injury was an additional worry.

Is Jordan Love fit to play the wild card round?

What’s your perspective on:

Can the Packers survive the Eagles without a fully fit Jordan Love leading the charge?

Have an interesting take?

Guess the regular season-ending game has wrapped up on a cliffhanger for the Packers‘ fans, right? An injury blow in his throwing arm could be the last thing the Packers’ fans expected. But there always comes dawn after the dark. When asked if he feels good about his chances to play in Philadelphia, Jordan Love has a one-word answer, “Yes.” Enough to light up the Packers’ fan base.

The Green Bay team has now finished the season with 11-6 and clinched the number 7 seed. On the other hand, the Eagles are sitting tough with the NFC East and the number 2 seed at 14-3 after a win over the Giants. This season marks the fourth postseason meet-up of both teams. While the Eagles will have the upper hand in postseason experience next week, the Packers will definitely face their own set of challenges.

And what’s that, you ask? Not only the QB has injured his throwing arm, wide receiver Christian Watson has sustained a non-contact knee injury as well. Yeah, it’s the same knee that’s been bothering him for a while this season. Watson left the field through the first half. And per the head coach’s latest statement, there’s no good news coming from the locker room regarding Watson. “I’m not super confident about that right now,” LaFleur stated.

Turns out, getting on the field with the starters was not a good decision for Green Bay. But as the HC himself stated they learn from experience. We can only hope that their learning works out well this time.
