Jordan Love recently expressed that the waiting period to step into this role felt quite extended, especially the first year, which seemed like the longest stretch of time. When Rodgers left the Packers for the Jets, it was a blow to the Packers. There was uncertainty surrounding Love’s capability to fill such big shoes. However, his performance, particularly in a playoff win against the Dallas Cowboys, has calmed some of their fears.
Love’s exceptional touchdown-to-interception ratio in the latter part of the season and his near-perfect passer rating against Dallas have showcased his potential to carry forward the Packers’ legacy of top-tier quarterback play. Love recently opened up about the transition to becoming the starting QB for his team, considering he is to continue the formidable legacy left by Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers.

Jordan Love acknowledged the weight of expectation that comes with stepping into the role previously held by Packers legends Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. “I see it all the time, people are saying we’ve [Packers fans] been spoiled with really really high-level quarterback play, um, over the years.” However, he sees being named the next QB after Aaron Rodgers as a “blessing” and expressed gratitude for the opportunity. However, Love is acutely aware of the “added level of pressure” due to the high-caliber performances and successes of his predecessors.
Reflecting on his journey, Love highlights the invaluable learning experience he gained from sitting behind Rodgers for three years. This mentorship allowed him to observe Rodgers’ professional conduct and exceptional gameplay closely, which Rodgers himself had honed under the guidance of Favre.
This lineage of QB excellence in Green Bay has not only shaped the team’s history but also equipped Love with lessons and insights to position him for success. But it seems that he is leaving no stone unturned in endearing himself to the Cheeseheads.
Jordan helps rescue a Packers fan
Jordan Love showcased his off-field heroics amid a fierce winter storm. Spotted by 20-year-old Lucy Kurowski, who was battling with her car stuck in the snow, Love didn’t hesitate to lend a hand. Kurowski, overwhelmed by the realization that a Packers player was assisting her, shared her excitement and disbelief, stating, “It didn’t feel real. I was in a state of shock.”

The encounter unfolded as Kurowski struggled to maneuver her car after a hair appointment, finding herself immobilized by the snow. Love, initially passing by, circled back to offer his assistance. Despite their efforts to push the car, Kurowski, mindful of Love’s upcoming game, suggested it might not be the best idea to persist. But he did anyway and before departing, Love even warmly obliged to a selfie!
