According to the NFL Insider, Ian Rapoport, on his official X account, “Sources: #Packers QB Jordan Love has agreed to a 4-year extension worth $220M, which makes him the highest paid QB in NFL history despite only starting 1 full season. Deal was negotiated by David Mulugheta and Andrew Kessler of @AthletesFirst.”

That’s a colossal amount to receive as Love has just taken over Aaron Rodgers’ and played only 1 full season as a starter. This news created a buzz among NFL fans on social media, with one X user commenting, “This is insane.” Another one commented, “The kids are saying Jordan Love is the truth. They’re right.” As per another NFL Insider, Adam Schefter, Jordan Love “also gets a record $75M Signing Bonus plus $155M in new full guarantees.”

Now, many are speculating how come Love achieved this monster contract when he just played one full season in the league with the team. So, the answer is, according to the reports, it is speculated that the Packers agreed to pay a $220 million deal to Love because he led the franchise to the playoffs in his first full season in 2023. Hence, that’s a reward for him! And now with this, he became the richest QB in NFL history.

The Packers’ journey with Jordan Love has been quite a ride. After drafting him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, they had Aaron Rodgers leading the team and winning MVPs. However, a few hours earlier to Love’s new deal, Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa too signed a hefty deal with his team.
