The Packers took over the Lambeau Feld and made an example out of the Kansas City Chiefs. But the game’s conclusion had everyone scratching their heads and left people wondering about the state of officiating in the NFL, especially after the calls made by ref Brad Allen. Serious questions are looming around the game and how it would have been in the Chiefs’ favor. Things went awry when the refs didn’t heed the contact foul on Travis Kelce in the end zone.

Allen has since then come forward to clear the air. However, this begs the question of how many teams suffer the same fate as the Kansas City Chiefs. Out of all the wrong calls, two major ones stood out. The noticeable ones were Travis Kelce and MVS’s calls. Touchdown Wire has made an interesting analysis of the situation.

What became a bane for Travis Kelce and the Chiefs?

It’s only correct to address the elephant in the room first. The shove came from Jonathan Owens to Travis Kelce! Patrick Mahomes threw a Hail Mary in the fleeting moments of the game. The Packers safety Jonathan Owens decided to shove Kelce with two hands in the end zone. It wasn’t hard to see who pushed who, but the refs, for some reason, let it slide, which ended in a 19-27 defeat for the Chiefs.

Then, in the other play, Mahomes threw the ball deep in hopes of connecting with Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who was stopped short of catching the ball. That was a clear foul, and Carrington Valentine should have been called out for the foul play, but again, the ref let it slide. Both of these opportunities would have made an enormous difference for the Chiefs.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs were frustrated, and we could see it.

The apparent frustration of the Chiefs

Then, there was the time when Jonathan Owens knocked Patrick Mahomes out of bounds, which was not even a call to have been made. The Kanas City team’s efforts to be back on the map were put to a stop after Pacheco was disqualified from the game. Despite Pacheco bouncing back from taking multiple hits, the Chiefs couldn’t make their way to the end zone. And when they did, they were stopped by the officiating.

The Chiefs got so frustrated that Isiah Pacheco decided to throw hands and tried to punch a Packer. Everything turned out to be in the Cheesehead’s favor in the end. Those two incidents should have been ruled in the Chiefs’ favor. Again, the question is: how many games have gone on like this? Will such officiating affect the playoff games?
