A slow start doesn’t always mean you’re done for. We all know the rabbit and tortoise story. When the Ravens lost two games back-to-back early in the season, critics were already writing them off. Lamar Jackson was getting slammed from all sides. People were calling him out for having a ‘poor playoff’ resume. And now, look at them. John Harbaugh‘s guys crushed the Texans 31-2 on Christmas Day, that too on Houston’s home turf. Not only did they cement their place in the playoffs, but they also pushed the Steelers down one spot with this latest win.
Now that they’re sitting on top of the AFC North, head coach John Harbaugh has fired off a bold warning to all the teams in the playoffs. “We knew and believed we were going to start playing better. We knew we’d play A LOT better. And the good news is we can still play so much better.” And the Ravens coach is right though. The way the Steelers are performing, teams need to watch out for them. Lamar Jackson is setting the gridiron on fire. The talks of his 5 TDs against the Giants are still fresh. “We’re just getting started. It’s the January season now. The December season is behind us, it’s the January season now,” added Harbaugh.
With Lamar Jackson and Co. not letting Houston score, it looked like the C.J. Stroud-led team took the day off on Christmas. That’s why fans have been bashing Roger Goodell, urging him not to schedule games on festive days. In this huge playoff-clinching game, the Ravens QB scored 2 TDs, racking up 168 yards. The team’s RB Derrick Henry, also found the end zone, rushing for 147 yards on 27 carries in the game. TE Mark Andrews also chimed in, adding one TD to his name too.

Moving on from that, HC John Harbaugh is happy with his guys cementing their place in the playoffs. In the post-game conversation with the media, Harbaugh dropped some interesting tidbits from the locker room before the game.
John Harbaugh lifted the team’s spirits with a powerful Christmas message
The Ravens have to owe it to John Harbaugh for making that comeback happen after the disappointing start. Despite losing 5 games, the 62-year-old made sure they stayed in the fight. And they did, as the HC expressed his happiness over the team’s win and shared what was going on in the locker room before the game. Before Lamar Jackson and the squad took the gridiron, Harbaugh recited a prayer to his team. “My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God, my Savior.” Well, that’s such a thoughtful thing to do.

“Rejoice in the losses. Rejoice in the wins like we’re blessed to do today as a football team, and just rejoice in the people that you love, the people that are close to you,” added Harbaugh. Not only that, but the HC also had to keep an eye on QB Lamar Jackson, who had vowed to watch Queen B perform live during the halftime show. Beyoncé performed during the Ravens vs. Texans game, and Jackson was pretty excited to see her live. So much so, that he was even ready to miss out on the meetings and strategies the team would discuss during halftime. But the Ravens didn’t let him slip out.
Harbaugh, who knows the QB is professional and serious during the games, said he still made sure that Lamar hadn’t snuck out. Funny! Well, Jackson may rewatch the highlights of the game to catch Queen B’s performance.
