The Baltimore Ravens were soaring high on a wave of victories not very long ago. However, the situation is different now. They won seven out of their last eight games, out of which many were dominated by a commanding lead of 10 points or more. Alas, in their showdown of the AFC title game against the Kansas City Chiefs, they lost. As fate would have it, a heart-wrenching twist for the Ravens unfolded and the Chiefs emerged as the victors with a 17-10 score.

The silence in the Ravens’ camp was palpable, Ravens’ fans in the stadium were definitely disheartened. However, as the disappointment surrounded the Purple Army, post the game, John Harbaugh revealed his message to the players in a press conference. Surprisingly, it was full of praise and applause for the team.

I was proud of them, I’m proud of the season that they had, he began as his voice echoed the long journey of his squad. Furthermore, he revealed his message: “Eyes straight ahead, your chin up, your chest out. Understand what you did accomplish.” Harbaugh concluded by emphasizing the fact that he is proud of his team and the season they have had. While the Ravens QB Lamar Jackson also reflected similar feelings of gratification, his emotional reaction to the loss was difficult to miss.

Lamar Jackson was sacked four times in a single game, which wasn’t ideal for the team. As the Chiefs’ defense maintained the pressure and restrained the otherwise dominant Ravens, the Purple Army was handed a massive defeat. Post the loss, the QB was witness in an utterly disheartened state. Additionally, in the video posted of Jackson, the 27-year-old can be seen being consoled by Odell Beckham Jr.

The latter hugged and consoled the QB as Jackson sat there on the bench. Nonetheless, as the sadness was evident on the QB’s face, he put forth a positive front. After the game, he said, “I’m very proud of my team,” despite their season-ending just short of their ultimate goal. Jackson also talked about the team’s initial uncertainties, he said, “We weren’t playing well… people don’t know what the Ravens offense or defense was going to look like.”
