A slow start doesn’t mean you’re going to lose, and the Ravens are the perfect example of this. It was interesting to see their comeback and the Steelers‘ downfall in the AFC North. After starting the season with two consecutive losses, John Harbaugh’s guys clinched the division. Whereas, even after ruling the division for most of the season, the Steelers failed to do so. Thanks to Lamar Jackson. The guy is doing amazing business on the gridiron out there. However, his coach had a different take on this.

Jackson-led Ravens beat the Cleveland Browns 35-10 in their week 18 game. After the victory, the proud Ravens HC awarded the team’s OC, Todd Monken, the ‘game ball’ (an honor given to a player or coach who did something impressive to help win a game). Harbaugh chose Todd instead of Jackson for this honor. And why not? After all, it’s Monken who’s worked harder than even the QB to make sure the offense dominates on the field.

You know what they say, ‘Give credit where it’s due.’ John Harbaugh sticks to that. Monken deserved all the praise because, under his guidance, the Ravens’ offense became the first team in NFL history with over 4,000 passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards. Monken, who has both college football and NFL coaching experience on his resume, is in his second season with the Ravens. Before joining the Ravens, he coached the Georgia Bulldogs under HC Kirby Smart.

As the team secured their last regular season win, there might be some ‘not-so-good news’ for them. Ravens WR1 suffered a knee injury in the second quarter of the game. Fans are now concerned, and they have every reason to be. The playoffs are just around the corner, and this injury could cost them a lot.

Zay Flowers’ injury gave John Harbaugh fresh worries

Injuries have been a concern for every team, and the latest victim is John Harbaugh’s Ravens. The team’s wide receiver, Zay Flowers, was ruled out in the second quarter of the game after taking a hit from a Browns defender. The injury happened after Flowers snagged a short pass from Lamar Jackson and pushed it to the Cleveland 12-yard line. The WR headed straight to the blue medical tent and didn’t return. The Boston alum has been a key offensive player for the team. With his injury, a dark cloud now hovers over the Ravens as they head into the playoffs.

What’s your perspective on:

Did Todd Monken deserve the game ball over Lamar Jackson for the Ravens' historic offensive season?

Have an interesting take?

HC John Harbaugh remains hopeful, though. After the game, the Ravens coach said,He has a chance to be OK with.” That doesn’t sound too promising, though. Harbaugh’s words sound like he either meant that Flowers is doing fine or his season is over. The WR is set to undergo MRIs soon, but until then, it’s hard to say anything for sure. Flowers who is playing his second season with the team, is killing it with his skills. So far, the 24-year-old has hauled in 73 passes for 1,047 yards and four touchdowns.

If he has to stay off the field because of his injury, the Ravens could be in big trouble. In that case, they’d have to roll with Rashod Bateman as the starting WR. It would be heartbreaking for Zay to make it this far and miss the playoffs. For now, all we can do is hope his injury isn’t that serious and he’ll be back on the gridiron for the playoffs.
