This season, the Bengals couldn’t achieve what they set out to do. It’s more of a disappointment. While everyone assumed that Joe Burrow would struggle because of his surgically repaired wrist, the defense has given him more headaches. They haven’t been able to contain the attacks.

During the week 9 matchup against the Raiders, Burrow was in his prime. With 5 touchdowns, he single-handedly took the Bengals to a win. However, during the post-game presser, he was not happy. When asked about his mindset, he said he would let the O-line and coaches know if they played good or bad. That’s a pretty strong and clear statement from the leader.

The signal-caller hasn’t been happy. Many games would have gone in their favor had they controlled some key moments. The season opener against the Patriots was theirs to win, but they lost. Against the Ravens, they lost 38-41 in overtime. In that game too, Joe Burrow had 5 touchdowns. That’s a commendable effort on his part.

In the presser, the quarterback looked relieved but not happy. He indicated that he wouldn’t rest until the team picked up their standard of playing. The fans, though, are happy that he is there to motivate and inspire the team to get up and win.

The ongoing notion in the locker room and the fans is that the defense is failing to hold their end. And they are ready to bring in reinforcements.

After Joe Burrow’s acknowledgment, the Bengals ready to boost their defense

Many NFL teams try to bring in talent from others, while some believe in developing their players. The Bengals are one of the latter. In the last 52 years, they have only acquired 2 players. That’s unbelievable! But the circumstances have forced them to break their tradition and bring in some tough players who could derail the attacks.

The Athletic’s Diana Russini reported that the team is looking for some cornerbacks and defensive linemen before the trade deadline closes on November 5, 4 pm ET. Well, Lou Anarumo would be happy to try some new players at these positions. The intentions are apparent.

Joe Burrow wants to play in the postseason. The win against the Raiders has kept their hopes alive. The team is also looking for a running back as Zack Moss got injured against the Raiders. It’s high time. The trade window closes soon.

With a 4-5 win-loss record after 9 games, there’s a lot of work to do. The question now is, can they do it? The entire team would have to rally behind the quarterback to feature in playoffs.
