Joe Burrow is challenging the Kansas City Chiefs, and that too in Travis Kelce’s show. The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback is confident enough to face the battle against the Chiefs in the next season.
Kelce brothers brought their New Heights podcast show to Cincinnati today April 11. To make the open show more thrilling for the audience, they invited Burrow to talk about the rivalries and the NFL, in their one-night event. And the discussions took a playful challenging turn when Burrow openly praised and showed confidence in his team.
In the event, Joe Burrow appeared to give a playful challenge to the Chiefs, as he said, “I appreciate our legendary battles. I think we’re built to beat them.” In response to this, Eagles’ retired star, Jason Kelce, said, “Well the Chiefs had to win one to make it a rivalry.” Chiming into it, the Chiefs star TE, Travis Kelce, too dug in challenging Burrow and Bengals, saying, “Snuck one out with a field goal.”

This playful challenge was loved by the audience present at Fifth Third Arena stadium. Last time, when the Chiefs met the Bengals, Kelce’s team won 25-17 over them. However, Burrow was replaced by Jake Browning that time, as he underwent surgery to repair a tear in the scapholunate ligament on his right wrist.
As per NFL history, overall, the Bengals & Chiefs rivalry has been played 34 times, including 2 postseason games. As Burrow pointed out, the Bengals indeed are above them with 18 wins over Chiefs’ 16 victories. And now, both the teams are awaiting for their clash once again, as playfully hinted by Burrow and Kelce. So, will they meet at the opening game in 2024?

The Bengals and Chiefs have developed a significant rivalry since the start of the 2021 season, meeting five times in both regular season and postseason games, including two AFC Championship Games. As the Bengals prepare to face all AFC West teams in 2024, speculation arises about who the Chiefs will host to kick off the regular season after winning the Super Bowl.
While the matchup between Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes is highly anticipated, recent history suggests the Bengals may not be chosen for the season opener, as their previous meetings with the Chiefs have occurred late in the season. Despite Bengals cornerback Mike Hilton’s advocacy for opening the 2023 season in Kansas City, the league scheduled the game for New Year’s Eve.

Past opening night matchups have often featured teams close to making the Super Bowl or rematches of playoff games, but the Chiefs have other potential opponents for the season opener in 2024, including the Texans, Ravens, Saints, and Buccaneers.
