Jim Harbaugh “is a complete breath of fresh air” in the league! He left Michigan after winning the National Championship to join the NFL once again, after his 1999 and 2000 seasons as a quarterback with the Chargers.
Now that he is signed with the Los Angeles Chargers, along with QB Justin Herbert, many are speculating a phenomenal season from the franchise. So, will they be able to? Well, NFL analyst Colin Cowherd has full faith in that.

In an episode of The Herd with Colin Cowherd on July 25, 2024, Cowherd discussed Jim Harbaugh joining the Chargers’ training camp and expressed his excitement for the changes the coach would bring. The Chargers have historically had great players but failed to capitalize on their talent due to a lack of toughness and grit. Cowherd believes Harbaugh is exactly what the team needs to instill these qualities.
He stated his predictions very clearly: “Here’s my prediction on what it’ll look like. Just like Michigan year one, Harbaugh arrives at Michigan (with) almost no NFL (talented) players and he wins 10 games massively overachieves rising expectations and….So the Chargers and he will overachieve this year. Don’t be shocked if they win 11 games, maybe 12.”

Despite the competitive nature of the AFC West division and the challenges posed by facing defending champs, Patrick Mahomes and his team, Cowherd believes Harbaugh would win most of the games, due to his 118-46 winning-losing stats in college. The analyst further expressed his confidence that the coach’s impact will be positive, bringing much-needed toughness, accountability, and vision to the franchise.
Meanwhile, Harbaugh is back at the training camp, and he is feeling like a New Year’s Day!

Jim Harbaugh feels like “being born?”
The Chargers kicked off training camp on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, under the leadership of newly-signed coach Jim Harbaugh. As it was a first experience for the coach after a long gap from the league, Harbaugh appeared in front of the media to talk about how he felt. The 60-year-old expressed, “It’s like New Year’s Day. It feels like being born. It feels like coming out of the womb. You’re in there. It’s comfortable and safe, and now you’re out. You’re born. Lights are on, it’s bright, chaos, people looking at you, people talking at you, and it just feels good to have it happen.”
Of course, he would have said that he is feeling great to be back and is enjoying practice with the players, but he didn’t! This statement itself tells how much happiness he might be feeling after being back in the league. But let’s not forget that the pressure will be there for sure–pressure for taking the Chargers ship from arguably zero point to the winning spot.
