The Los Angeles Chargers have been bringing in players and coaches one by one from the Baltimore Ravens. Greg Roman had been working with the Ravens since 2017 and recently moved to the Chargers this year while taking up the position of Offensive Coordinator. But it was not just the OC the Chargers were after from the Baltimore team. They also got the running back Gus Edwards to join their squad for the upcoming season. And now, it looks like matters are turning more in favor of the LA side with the almost-done new addition to the team.
The Jim Harbaugh-led team is believed to be in cohorts with running back JK Dobbins, also a Ravens player. Adam Schefter recently took to Instagram and shared updates about what is going on in the Harbaugh brothers-coached teams. Safe to say that the race to equalize the offense is on!
Will JK Dobbins tip the scales of power?

Adam Schefter reports that the RB might sign a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers, as conveyed by his agency, LAA Sports. It hasn’t been confirmed yet and things are still in the budding stage, per Schefter’s post. The news came as Dobbins’ deal with the Ravens was coming to an end.
He wrote on IG, “Former Ravens RB JK Dobbins plans to sign a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers, per his agency LAA Sports. He now will reunite with his former Ravens OC Greg Roman in Los Angeles. Chargers now have two former Ravens running backs, Dobbins and Gus Edwards.”
While Schefter maintains a hint of doubt in his posts, others are sure that the Chargers and Dobbins have agreed to a one-year deal. The nuances of the contract aren’t available yet. It is to be noted that Dobbins is the second Ravens RB to potentially join the Chargers and only the 4 player who moved from the Ravens to the Chargers.

It was clear that the RB had to move on from the Ravens after the 2023 season, mainly because of how he was a severely underutilized piece in the Ravens’ offense. In the last season, the RB just played one game and had 22 yards and a touchdown to show in the same. But the NFL is business, and Dobbins made clear earlier that he understands the business side of the league as well.
The RB has been anticipating a move!
Looking at his tenure with the Ravens, the RB missed 43 games and just played in 24 games throughout his 4-year tenure. He suffered a left knee injury in the 2021 season, which caused him to miss out on the entire season, hampering his numbers. Ever since then, he has been included less and less in the Ravens’ scheme of things.

Appreciate all JK Dobbins did for the Baltimore Ravens, never really reached his potential thanks to two serious injuries.
Hope he does well with the Baltimore Chargers 😜 #RavensFlock pic.twitter.com/1oGxdlI0ZT

His 2023 season was cut short after he declared himself completely healthy, only to get back to the field and take on an Achilles injury, causing him to miss the whole season all over again. Addressing the situation and his non-inclusion in the side sometimes, Dobbins had come forth to comment on the same.

“The business side is very hard. It’s very different,” Dobbins told WJZ Sports. “But it’s part of it. It’s part of the dream and it’s something that I’m blessed with, to deal with the business side of that. You saw with Lamar, it’s never just roses and daisies. It can be hard at times. It’s business, though.”
However, it looks like the Chargers are willing to look beyond these problems and give Dobbins another run at his career. What do you think about this probable deal? Let us know your thoughts below!
