One thing many fans agree on is that the Chiefs haven’t played their best game this season. Though they have won 11 games and lost 1 till week 13, most of them have been very close. Even against the Raiders which have only won 2 and lost 10 games, they could only win 19-17. Now, as the season is moving into the playoff stage, every game matters. Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes are planning their way forward as in week 14, they would face the Chargers.
The Chargers have undergone a revamp under the HC Jim Harbaugh. He has managed to transform them into winners. Ahead of their week 14 game, he declined to reveal any extra information while talking to reporters and said, “I’m just going to go by the sheet that Josh read. Not going to talk about personnel and who we’re playing who we’re not playing, get no advantage for us.”
Given that the Chiefs’ O-line has struggled this entire season, this secrecy tactic by the Chargers HC is another headache for Andy Reid. But that’s what he must have expected as he also didn’t reveal the left tackle while talking about the Chargers rematch. But there are other problematic areas too.

Patrick Mahomes & Co. have also fallen from the pedestal they once were in the eyes of their fans. In the first week of the 2025 Pro Bowl voting, the Grim Reaper came in 7th position in the quarterbacks. It clearly shows that he is not their favorite anymore.
However, the head coach is ready for the challenge. He has been prompt with his game plans this season, which has helped them. But they are being warned to play better.
Andy Reid’s Chiefs receive warning from ex-NFLer
Former NFL wide receiver James Jones appeared on The Facility show on December 6 where he warned the Chiefs. While talking about the AFC Conference, he said, “For the Chiefs, there’s a lot at stake because if you lose this game and Josh Allen wins, you’re the 2 seed. So, you would go from the 1 seed to the 2 seed so now you gotta go through buffalo. The Chiefs are not playing elite football. They’re finding ways to win one-score games, but this is what’s at stake.” That’s right.

The Bills have 10 wins while the Steelers have 9 wins after week 13. All three of them have 5 games left. And the Chiefs and the Steelers will face each other on Christmas. The fight now is not only about the win but to finish as the top seed. Andy Reid knows things might get tough in the postseason. For now, the focus is on the week 14 matchup.
