A decision by Aaron Rodgers, probably resulted in a historic catch for the team and the league. The New York Jets were facing the Houston Texans at MetLife on Thursday night football. Down by three in the fourth quarter, staring at a daunting third-and 19, Rodgers wanted a safety drop down. Hence, he didn’t hesitate and launched a deep 47-yard pass to his target, Garrett Wilson.
But what came next was something which will often be considered as remarkable. Wilson’s one-hand catch at the end zone helped his team earn a touchdown. This jump is now being called as that of Michael Jordan’s Jumpman—iconic logo of Nike.
Hence, post-game in the presser, Davante Adams issued a subtle, hilarious warning to Garrett Wilson, saying, “He might get kicked from Adidas after that one. That one looked like he’s headed over to Jumpman with me.”

With this statement, Adams joked that after this spectacular one like Michael Jordan, Wilson might lose his association with the $42 billion giant sports brand. Jordan was also released by Adidas to Nike, and there he went on to promote his famous Air Jordan shoes. Nevertheless, this moment turned out to be historic and amazing for the audience, which will be remembered for years.
But what about Garrett Wilson’s Adidas’ partnership?
Will Garrett Wilson be dropped by Adidas?
About 3 years ago, in 2022, Ohio State wide receiver Garrett Wilson signed to Adidas, becoming a new partner brand of the sports brand. Yes! This happened when he wasn’t even drafted by the NFL. He joined other NFL members to the Three Stripes.

And now after enacting a similar pose to Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan shoes, while receiving a catch this Thursday, many are wondering what is coming up next for the wide receiver. Well, it’s likely that nothing will be changed, as Wilson will remain a partner to Adidas.
On the other hand, this catch appeared as a “game-changing” play to Aaron Rodgers, who later said, “I didn’t do a whole lot when it comes down to it. I just kind of lobbed one up there and he made an unbelievable catch… That was a huge play. The first one was a huge play as well… But that was a game-changing play.” And why shouldn’t it be? Afterall, following this play, Jets continued to improve their points in the game.
