Could a Rodgers-Adams reunion make the Jets serious Super Bowl contenders?

The trade talks of Davante Adams just got more exciting. Earlier, the NFL world was abuzz with Aaron Rodgers‘ wish being fulfilled. The veteran wanted Adams to join the New York Jets. Then, the WR said that he was looking for a future with the Raiders. However, things have gone awry. Raiders want to trade him. Now, the Jets’ coach has teased both players.

While talking to reporters, Robert Saleh smirked at the possibility of trading in a WR who has a good rapport with the QB. However, he signaled that they were more focused on in-house talent and said, “We’ll always look at everything, But we’re focused on the guys who are here.” Things are moving at a quick pace right now. Anything can happen at any moment.

There was one more reason behind rumors of a potential move to the Jets. Cornerback Sauce Gardner recently tweeted a mysterious photo that showed a hand with a child tattoo. Fans went crazy after watching it, claiming that the CB was playing a key role in getting the duo back together. But the Jets tried to acquire Davante Adams previously as well.

Before the 2023 season, the Gang Green wanted to bring the WR to the team. However, he then declined it publicly, saying he was happy with his current team. But he now wants a change. Adam Schefter claimed that Davante Adams wants to play with a quarterback with whom he has played already. With this, the Jets’ chances increase significantly.

Will the QB and WR reunite this year? It remains to be seen as more teams join the trade talks.

Competition to acquire Davante Adams heats up

Something interesting just popped up. The receiver recently revealed his preferred destinations. The first one was the obvious choice of the Jets (with Aaron Rodgers). But the second one is a bit more surprising choice, New Orleans Saints (with Derek Carr). The WR and Carr played together in the 2022 season before Carr moved to the Saints. The interesting part doesn’t stop here.

Many other teams are slowly joining the race to get the WR. Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers have also shown an interest in Davante Adams. But the problem starts there. The Raiders are not in a hurry to trade him. And they want the teams to reach the asking price. However, the WR wants an early out.
