It’s Dolphins (5-7) vs. Jets (3-9) at Hard Rock Stadium, and while Gang Green’s season has been more “hard knock” than a reel, there’s still a shot to wrap it up with something fans can smile about. Miami’s playoff hopes are hanging by a thread, so this game isn’t just a formality—it’s a must-win for them to stay in the conversation. As for the Jets’ hopes? Well, Aaron Rodgers is the guy they’d be looking at (to save them from the injury blemishes!).
The Jets are limping into this matchup. Breece Hall and Sauce Gardner are unlikely to suit up, and C.J. Mosley’s season—and probably his Jets career—ended with a trip to injured reserve. “Barring something magical happening, they’re doubtful,” interim coach Jeff Ulbrich admitted, leaving fans with even more questions than answers.
But there’s one wild card: A-ROD. The guy has a 3-1 record against Miami and thrives in unpredictable situations. Can he rally this battered squad for an upset? I mean, if the Phins are unable to bag a dub from this game, it’d be all but over for their postseason dreams.

Still, let’s not kid ourselves. Rodgers can’t Solo clutch (this is not COD on recruit mode), especially with injuries playing the worst BAD LUCK. Gardner’s hammy and Hall’s hyper-extended knee have left gaping holes. Rookies Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis will step in, but replacing Hall is no small task. And let’s not forget the Jets’ defense is missing its heartbeat—Mosley, who Ulbrich called “the heart and soul of the defense,” is now out for good.
So, here we are. The dominoes…more like the apples …are falling into the Big Apple one after the other. However, we are going to say it again: DO NOT SLEEP ON AR!
What’s your perspective on:
Can Aaron Rodgers pull off a miracle, or will the Dolphins crush the Jets' last hopes?
Have an interesting take?

Aaron Rodgers is a shark for the Phins, despite a below-average season so far
We don’t say that lightly because we know Aaron Rodgers isn’t exactly lighting up the stat sheet this season. At 41, he’s having one of his worst seasons, with a -4.9% completion percentage over expected—third to last in the NFL. But we request you to read that name again…and PAUSE!
Even at his “down” year, you can’t sleep on a future HOFer ‘just like that!’ And even the Phins LB Chop Robinson did not hold back when he said: “He still looks like Aaron Rodgers out there.”
Sure, the Jets are 3-9, and Rodgers has had his share of turnovers and missed opportunities—8 INTS, to be precise. But here’s the thing: He’s still Rodgers. Miami’s defensive coordinator, Anthony Weaver, knows that better than anyone, reminding us of Rodgers’ uncanny ability to read defenses and make adjustments before the snap. The Dolphins’ pass rush? Yeah, it’s gotta bring its A-game to rattle. Getting to him is the goal—make him uncomfortable.

But even when you get in Rodgers’s face, he’s dangerous. Defensive tackle Calais Campbell knows it’s all about pressure: “You’ve got to get him off his spot.” That said, let’s not sugarcoat it more than it is. Both the teams would have hoped for a different season. But it’s gone. Like we said: Miami has a few games where they can still dream of that playoff berth. As for the Jets? It’s just laying up the groundwork, the foundation for next season, and it starts in Miami.
