Cowboys fans, buckle up for some interesting news! Despite a rollercoaster season sitting at 7-8 heading into Week 16, the Cowboys are officially out of playoff contention. Not exactly how anyone drew it up, right? The mood in the locker room is pretty tense, as you can imagine – players and staff are definitely feeling those nerves about what comes next. But wait, there’s more! Jerry Jones’s son just dropped some pretty big news involving four of the team’s star players. From everything we’ve seen from the Cowboys this season, this could be a real game-changer!

During a recent appearance at 105.3 The FAN, via Jon Machota on X, Jerry Jones’s son and Cowboys’s EVP, Stephen Jones, was asked about the team’s thoughts on re-signing four players in the roster – DT Osa Odighizuwa, CB Jourdan Lewis, DE Chauncey Golston and RB Rico Dowdle. To the people who are unaware, these four stars are soon going to be free agents in 2025. Hence, the host asked Jones about them.

So, what was his reply? Well, confirming their future with the team itself, Jerry Jones’s son expressed, “We want them back. They’ve shown that they are Dallas Cowboys football players.” This means, the Cowboys are ready to bring Odighizuwa, Lewis, Golston and Dowdle. But now the question arises when? Well, explaining this delay too, Jones added, “They’re certainly guys we want to have back, it’s just making all the calculus work when it comes to fitting everybody under the salary cap.

Hmm, so Jerry Jones and his team are working on calculus to accommodate these four players in the team. And why shouldn’t they? Osa Odighizuwa has been considered among the best defensive tackles with 42 total and 23 solo tackles. Similarly, Jourdan Lewis has also helped the team by remaining consistent for the last two seasons. In addition, he is arguably fourth in average depth of target allowed (6.6), and has the second rank in most defensive stops at that position.

Talk about hidden gems – have y’all been watching Chauncey Golston doing his thing on defense? This guy’s been turning heads as one of our defensive line standouts! And speaking of standout performances – can we take a moment to appreciate Rico Dowdle? My goodness! The man’s been on FIRE, dropping back-to-back 100+ yard rushing games like he’s playing Madden on easy mode! Here’s the best part – Jerry Jones and the front office are loving what they’re seeing! Word is they’re planning to keep these talented players around. Smart move, right? It’s like finding money in your old jeans pocket, but better! But here’s where things get a bit bittersweet – while these guys are getting their tickets punched for next season, star receiver CeeDee Lamb is dealing with some tough breaks this season. Talk about a mixed bag of news!

Jerry Jones and team have sidelined CeeDee Lamb?

Let’s talk about what’s going on with CeeDee Lamb! So here’s the scoop – the star receiver’s season is wrapping up a bit early, with just two games left on the calendar. Unfortunately, that AC joint sprain has finally caught up with him. And let me tell you, this guy’s been an absolute warrior about it! You know what’s really impressive? Lamb’s been out there battling through this injury for weeks, just giving it his all for the team. Talk about heart! Coach McCarthy’s been singing his praises too, which really tells you something about Lamb’s dedication to the Cowboys.

Well, he said, “He’s crushed that he’s not playing these last two games. It just shows the competitor he is. We all know what he means to our team. But this is the right decision for him, and this is the right decision for the Dallas Cowboys.” According to the HC, Lamb is frustrated to know that he isn’t allowed to play due to the injury, as he wanted to end the year on a happy note. But together Jerry Jones, Mike McCarthy and others have taken the decision for the betterment of Lamb and his injury. And he knows that very well.

This injury actually happened on November 3 during a game against the Falcons. In that tough loss, the athlete hit the ground not just once, but twice. As a result, that caused him the sprain. And now, he’s unable to keep himself moving with that pain. Hence, the franchise has decided to give him a long break from the games. Long because the season is over for the Cowboys, until they come back in the next season.

Anyway, for now, the Cowboys have a game upcoming against the Eagles at 4:25pm ET on Sunday, December 29 at Lincoln Financial Field.
