Whatever happens in the following weeks, Mike McCarthy’s time in Dallas could come to an end sooner or later. After leading the Cowboys to three consecutive 12-win seasons, McCarthy’s team has been ripped to pieces this season. Well, the team that once refused to lose at home with 16 consecutive victories is now winless in six. Still, they refuse to let go of their offensive play-caller as Jerry Jones’ son shares an update.
You can often find Jerry Jones sharing his thoughts on the Cowboys whenever he appears on 105.3 The Fan. But this time, it’s his son Stephen Jones who gave an update on Mike McCarthy’s future in Dallas. When asked whether the Cowboys are thinking about changing their offensive play-callers, Stephen’s reply was a straightforward ‘No.’ As per the Cowboys EVP, the hierarchy is not even considering this option right now.
Well, Stephen isn’t the only one who has recently spoken in favor of McCarthy’s future. His dad also made his feelings clear after the Cowboys fell to 3-7 last week. Sharing his thoughts in the post-game presser, Jones was like, “I’ve made a change early on a coach with Chailey, and I’ve always regretted that. I’ve made a change during the season, and I’ve regretted that. That’s the music I’m listening to.” How stubborn Jerry can be on his stance with McCarthy right now.

But to McCarthy’s defense, Jerry and his son are not the only ones standing beside him in Dallas. Even their star receiver, CeeDee Lamb, opined that the players need to step up and bring those results home, “We got to go out there and play hard, bro. We got to play for the guys that’s lining up next to us, to our left and our right and then just put them before yourself.” Besides all the support McCarthy is getting right now, the only way he remains at the helm would be through winning games.
Otherwise, the Cowboys might have a possible replacement lined up in college football. Although it could be a rumor for now, some believe it’s only a matter of time before it happens.

Cowboys Nation call for Deion Sanders with Mike McCarthy’s future in dark
What’s your perspective on:
Is Mike McCarthy's time up, or can he still turn the Cowboys' season around?
Have an interesting take?
Folks! We have to agree that Mike McCarthy is on borrowed time with the way the Cowboys are performing this season. And when there are hot commodities like Deion Sanders on the market, he will surely feel the pressure. As per legendary Cowboys WR Michael Irvin, he believes Sanders is just waiting around the wings to take the Dallas job. Giving his insight on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Irvin revealed, “I believe 100%, and I can tell you, good sources have told me that. Great source have told me that. That’s all I can say like that without violating anything else.”
While Irvin’s comments would surely excite the Dallas fans, Jerry Jones yet again pulled the brakes on them. When sharing his thoughts on Sanders replacing McCarthy after this season, Jones expressed on 105.3 The Fan, “One of his greatest skills, that he really brings to college, is that he almost has no peer as far as a recruiter. Kids want to come play for him. And he has a way of selling that. That is one skill, that recruiting skill, that is not a huge prerequisite for NFL coaches.”

So what does Coach Prime have to say about the rumors linking him to Dallas, “I’m happy where I am. I’ve got a kickstand down. You know what a kickstand is? That means I’m resting. I’m good. I’m happy, I’m excited, I’m enthusiastic about where I am. I love it here, truly do.” Although nothing has been confirmed yet, the Cowboys, for now, have to win under McCarthy in the following weeks. Otherwise, it would just be another painful ending to a season that had promised a lot.
