It’s a new day in Dallas and the same old ownership and coaching staff concerns in the Cowboys roster. Well, in this case, it’s a new year and the same old Jerry Jones statements on his coaching staff. But honestly, at some point or another, we saw that coming, given Mike McCarthy’s contract tenure, is at an end. Well, we’re talking about the whole staff here whose contracts are expiring this season along with the head coach.

So many Cowboys coaches are out of contract after this week. Speaking of which, as an owner, Jones is responsible for making a decision. However, the question is how quickly he’s gonna come to a conclusion on the same. Well, ask the man himself as the owner has got a straightforward answer. “I’m not under any unusual time frame. At all,” Jones declared when asked about the Cowboys coaches’ contract.

Straightforward answer as it seems, it’s the owner himself who knows the true meaning behind this answer. Because at the start of the season, there’s no doubt McCarthy and his staff thought of a different scenario for the team. But then again, as far as the current status is concerned, the Cowboys are not going to the postseason.

That means no matter what the coaching staff were plotting in the season’s beginning, the Cowboys now need to negotiate the contract deals not just with the head coach but the entire staff as well. But you know what the real kicker is? Jerry Jones is pretty impressed with the team’s resilience.

Not to forget that besides the ownership, the QB, Dak Prescott, and Micah Parsons have endorsed the HC’s return. That said, it won’t be wrong to say that the Cowboys are eying the whole staff to return for the following season.

Should the Cowboys stick with McCarthy despite another playoff miss, or is it time for change?

Have an interesting take?

Remember the Cowboys’ win over the Buccaneers? Well, how could you forget that? The victory over the Tampa Bay team wasn’t the only highlight of the game for the Cowboys fans. It’s the locker room where Jones embraced the HC with a hug. Well, that was enough to add a fuel in the fire over McCarthy’s return in the roster for the next season.

But still, there’s nothing from the owner when a decision over McCarthy’s future with the Cowboys is asked repeatedly. That seems pretty frustrating, right? When asked about the same decision on 105.3 The Fan, Jones declined to get into any specifics on his decision one way or the other regarding McCarthy’s coaching future in Dallas. “I feel good about Mike McCarthy. I like the job that he’s done,” Jones said.

Speaking of the job that McCarthy has done, there’s no doubt that the coach has a solid 49-35 regular season record. However, with three playoffs appearances, McCarthy and the Cowboys didn’t get past to the divisional round. Salt on the wound? They’re already eliminated from the playoff race this season.
