Jerry Jones, the larger-than-life owner of the Dallas Cowboys, is going to be part of a new series on Netflix. The Dallas Cowboys hold a special place in the hearts of football fans as “America’s Team.” And Jones’ tenure as the owner, president, and GM of the Dallas team has been nothing short of transformative.

The franchise won three NFL titles in the 1990s under Jerry Jones’ mentorship. These wins solidified them as one of the most successful franchises in the NFL history. The upcoming Netflix series, produced in collaboration with Skydance Sports and NFL Films, will delve into the owner’s journey on how he transformed the franchise from a mere team to a national sports icon.

Jerry Jones’s Netflix debut

The upcoming documentary will be a part of Netflix’s collaboration with the Cowboys and is going to be an extension of the already announced “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders” series. Poised to capture the essence of the team through the lens of those who shaped its legacy, the series will offer viewers access to never-before-seen footage and exclusive interviews with key figures in the Cowboys’ storied history. Viewers will experience the journey of prominent Cowboys’ entities, from Jones himself to legendary players like Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith, and Deion Sanders, along with iconic coaches such as Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer.

Moreover, the series will feature insights from prominent personalities beyond the realm of football, including former President George W. Bush and Nike founder Phil Knight.

Jesse Sisgold, president and COO of Skydance, stated, “Jerry Jones is an incomparable figure. With the Dallas Cowboys, he has built the world’s most valuable sports franchise and has undeniably transformed both modern football and the sports business at-large. It is an honor to commemorate his journey and that of his dynasty by partnering with the Jones family, the Dallas Cowboys organization, and NFL Films to bring this uniquely American story to life.”

The series is one of many documentaries by Netflix related to the NFL. However, the streaming giant has not limited itself to football, and has been exploring multiple sports and sports-entities for their viewers.

Netflix’s upcoming diverse sports documentaries

One of many sports documentaries on Netflix is the two-parter series, “Simone Biles: Rising” which will explore the world of the famous gymnast, Simone Biles.
