Here we are in yet another episode of Jerry Jones’ stubbornness with the Dallas Cowboys. But this time, it isn’t related to signing players or hiring coaches. Or even selling his team for the sake of the Cowboys’ return to superiority. The subject of the matter here is the home of the Dallas Cowboys. Yes, the latest addition to Jerry Jones ignoring the Cowboys’ plea is the AT&T Stadium.

Let’s go back to week 9 to help you get some context before jumping into Jones’ weird admission. There was this one moment when CeeDee Lamb was almost prepared to haul in a TD pass from Cooper Rush. However, the sun came in between his TD, and Lamb was blinded by the incoming rays that seeped through the stadium. Lamb even confessed to the media after the game why he couldn’t make the catch, “I couldn’t see the ball. Couldn’t see the ball at all.” When Lamb was further asked whether he would like to see some curtains blocking the sun’s rays, the Cowboys WR answered, “Yes. 1000%.”

But since his plea to bring some curtains into play, Jones hasn’t taken a decision yet. And considering his interview with Travis Kelce’s ex, Kayla Nicole, for I Am Athlete, Jones may not proceed with the idea, anyway. When the Cowboys GM was asked if he was thinking about addressing his players’ concern of not seeing the ball, Jones stated, “Well, first of all, it’s in the other teams’ eyes as well. We have done a study. I think in 15 years, we had 2 or 3 balls that were influenced by that sun. So, really not enough.”

This means one or two issues aren’t enough for Jones to take his players’ concerns seriously. Instead, he changed the subject, saying the fans wouldn’t really like him putting curtains, “What it does do for us is have an excellent way frankly for fans, which all of those players want those fans to have as great a view as they can because that’s what pays their checks. So they’re are anxious to have one there and so that stadium was built for the fans.”

Maybe Jones needs to start taking his players’ opinions a little more seriously. That’s because if they don’t manage to see the ball, then there won’t be any TDs. And if there won’t be any TDs, there won’t be any wins. So, not winning wouldn’t really attract too many fans to witness players dropping passes all over the gridiron.

But that wasn’t the only thing Jerry Jones talked about with Kayla Nicole. He also spoke a little about Deion Sanders and why he didn’t give the Cowboys job to his former corner.

Jerry Jones reveals the real reason for not hiring Deion Sanders

See, it’s an open secret that the Cowboys played with the idea of Deion Sanders taking the head coach job after Mike McCarthy left the club. Sanders even had a phone call with Jones about the coaching gig in Dallas, which he revealed, “It was good. It was intriguing. I did think about what if, what were the possibilities.”

But then, it wasn’t an idea that really enticed Sanders as he further added, “But I think at this point in time. I’m called to the college game, I’m good to the young men. I’m called to those cities, those towns, those communities. That’s who I’m called for to make an impact at this stage and age in my life.” Well, the Cowboys eventually moved on from Sanders and went on to make their OC Brian Schottenheimer their HC.

So, when Nicole asked Jones, “Why not Deion for the head coaching spot in Dallas?” The Cowboys owner said something along the lines of Sanders and where he truly gels in, “Well, its not a question of why not Deion. I think he is officially one of the top people on his corner. Both as a coach and just as a person. And Deion has almost a magical effect on young athletes. And it’s not only because he was such a great athlete. It’s how he approaches his gift.” Now, Jones isn’t the only one who believes Sanders’ talents would work best for developing kids.

Even his former head coach, Jimmy Johnson, also had similar thoughts on the Buffaloes coach’s move to the NFL: “Don’t get me wrong. I love Deion. I love Prime. But his strength is bringing in talent.” Well, two of his biggest talents, Travis Hunter and his son Shedeur Sanders, will soon be in the NFL. And both are slated to be high picks in this year’s upcoming draft. But I guess we won’t be seeing Prime Time anytime soon in the NFL.
