Is Jerry Jones right to dismiss the sun issue, or should the Cowboys make changes?

Remember the 2022 post-season game between the Cowboys and the 49ers? Dallas hosted that NFC wildcard game at AT&T Stadium, but they ended up with a loss. And guess what? One of the major reasons behind the defeat was – the Sun.

Yes! As Dak Prescott threw a pass to receiver Cedrick Wilson, the WR missed it at the crucial stage. Not because of his skill, but because the sun blinded him. This eventually led the America’s team to lose possession of the football. Two years have passed since this incident, but the problem still continues. The recent one happened when backup quarterback Cooper Rush threw a pass to CeeDee Lamb, but he surprisingly missed the direct throw. This created a buzz in the locker room, with everyone, including Lamb, asking for a solution from Jerry Jones.

And guess what? Until the final decision, Jerry Jones’s $4 million plus star Jake Ferguson has a temporary and hilarious solution to it. Well, you can’t stop the sun, right? But you can definitely catch the football! But how? That’s what Ferguson thinks, as NFL insider Tom Pelissero informed during his talk with the TE, the 25-year-old said, “catch the black spot. In other words, look in the middle of the Sun, the thing (which looks like a spot) that’s the football.

Hilarious, but might be an effective solution for now! Besides this, Pelissero further explained that, early in his TV career, he was given a tip for handling bright lights: close your eyes, face the light, then open your eyes, which helps adjust. Hence, curious if Ferguson had learned any tricks like that, Pelissero asked him how he catches the football under the glaring Texas sun. To which he replied, “catching the spot.”

In addition, Ferguson also reflected on that specific play, when Lamb couldn’t see the football at all due to the sun. He even informed the journalist that he was close enough to see the football himself and almost reached out to catch it, but hesitated, thinking it was intended for Lamb during their game against the Eagles.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Jerry Jones right to dismiss the sun issue, or should the Cowboys make changes?

Have an interesting take?

After CeeDee Lamb’s complaints, what did Jerry Jones say about the issue?

The home game didn’t turn out to be an advantage for the Cowboys team on Sunday. After missing the football incident, CeeDee Lamb complained about the issue in a post-game presser. He expressed frustration by saying, “I couldn’t see the ball. Couldn’t see the ball at all. The sun.” Hence, this topic was brought to Jerry Jones’s table, and surprisingly, the owner gave a completely ballistic reply to it.

When the reporters asked about putting curtains in the stadium, the 82-year-old gave a sarcastic reply: “By the way, we know where the sun is going to be when we flip the coin, so we do know where the damn sun is going to be in our own stadium. Let’s just tear the damn stadium down and build another one. Are you kidding me?

Well, with this statement it’s unclear what Jones is up to, but it’s speculated that he isn’t in favor of this, especially after his “every team that comes in here has the same issues” remarks. But if you ask Lamb, his demand is clear – “Yes. 1000%” on the stadium needs curtains to block the Sun’s bright light.

So, it remains to be seen what’s coming up next for the Cowboys. Will they install curtains or find other solutions, or will they continue facing the same problem over and over?
