Is Jerry Jones' frustration justified, or is he just deflecting blame for the Cowboys' failures?

Frustration is evident in the Cowboys’ camp! After the ‘all-in’ and contract extension episodes, the Dallas Cowboys were pretty sure about their winning in the 2024 season. But with recent drastic losses, and just 3-3 on the standings, the franchise is now being questioned. And the more frustrated person is owner Jerry Jones, who received a peculiar birthday gift of a 47-9 loss against the Lions. Now, keeping his frustration private would be one thing, but airing it publicly is a whole different ballgame.

This happened when, while speaking to some radio hosts recently at 105.3, Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones got fumed about the reporter’s question about the Cowboys’ offseason moves. He lashed out saying, “This is not your job. Your job isn’t to let me go over all the reasons that I did something and I’m sorry that I did it. That’s not your job. I’ll get somebody else to ask these questions.” He even made serious threats to the jobs of hosts Shan Shariff, R.J. Choppy, and Bobby Belt. Hence, while narrating the incident on his show, host Dan Patrick fired back at Jones, saying, “I applaud the hosts if you’re asking questions, that’s what your job is. Jerry threatened their jobs because they were doing their jobs.”

But it seems now Jones has been trying to cover up his past statements with another subtle remark on the media, as he said, “I don’t know that I would go as far as (calling) the volume connotation as yelling. OK? But the facts are that if I’m going to be grilled by the tribunal, I don’t need it to be by the guys I’m paying. I can take it from fans and take it from other people.” Not only this!

He continued to show his anger mode while emphasizing, “I take a lot of pride in how fair and how much I try to work with the media, we’re brothers and sisters. But I was a little frustrated there today. … The wrong ones were doing the questioning. Now, if those had been real fans sitting there or if there had been people that knew what they were talking about, football people, I might have had a different answer.” Well, these statements from him clearly show his frustration with the losses. And given Sunday’s loss, that too on his 82nd birthday, Jones is not at all happy with the team.

However, still, the franchise isn’t going forward with the new faces.

Does Jerry Jones believe in his team?

The Dallas Cowboys are at a crossroads. After a tough start to the season and a crushing loss in Week 6, fans are looking for answers. But Jerry Jones, ever the optimist, isn’t turning to trades to fix the problem. As the trade deadline looms (Nov. 5), many hoped for a big-name move to shake things up. However, Jones made it clear: no new faces, no quick fixes.

While speaking to the Athletic reporter, Dianna Russini, Jerry Jones made it clear that he believes the team can work through their struggles on the practice field. Hence, even after a 47-9 defeat to the Lions, Jones confirmed he’s sticking with the current players and coaching staff, trusting that they can turn things around. Strange! It is because earlier Jones lashed out at the team in frustration that, “One of the stupidest things I’ve ever done, that anybody had ever analyzed was buy the Cowboys. It was an idiot that did that.

And now the change in statements does not clearly define what exactly he feels about the team. However, one thing might be sure, Jones is now waiting for the season to end, and if this performance continues, we could expect some big changes in the team!
