“Never quit! #celebrationselfie #dallascowboys.” That’s what Jerry Jones‘s daughter said after the Cowboys exited from the playoff scenario on December 22, 2024. Charlotte Jones never shies away from adoring her NFL dad’s decision for the Cowboys’ success. And now, when Jones replaced Mike McCarthy after a poor season, she chimed in once again with some positivity.
Charlotte Jones expressed her exhilaration at the new Cowboys’ coach hiring. As soon as Jerry Jones years announced the new head coach, she could not resist congratulating Brian Schottenheimer- the new Cowboys HC. Taking to her official Instagram account, Cowboys’ executive vice president, and chief brand officer sent heartfelt congratulations to the former Cowboys’ offensive coordinator. “Congratulations, Coach Schottenheimer!” she wrote a concise message for the new head coach.

However, this was not the first time when Charlotte Jones’s congratulatory message went viral on the internet. A few days back in December 2024, she sent a powerful message to the team after the Cowboys’ 26-24 triumph over the Buccaneers. “Never quit,” she wrote in her IG post caption. At this moment, she also added a snap with the Cowboys’ management team.
And, once again her heartfelt wishes to her team’s news HC, Schottenheimer caught the public eye. Interestingly, this came after her NFL dad Jerry Jones decided to replace him with the former head coach Mike McCarthy after a not-so-fruitful 2024 NFL season.

Jerry Jones finally answered all questions regarding Mike McCarthy’s successor by promoting Schottenheimer to the head coaching role. Though this promotion raised many eyebrows, Jones cleared his stance regarding the decision during Schottenheimer’s introductory press conference.
“I know I get my proverbial ass kicked over needing people in my comfort zone. Without this thing being about me in any way, if you don’t think I can operate out of my comfort zone, you’re so wrong,” the Cowboys owner expressed. Besides this, he also acknowledged that this is the greatest risk that anyone could have taken.
Talking about the risk in appointing a coach with fewer experience, Jones said, “It’s unbelievable. This is as big a risk as you could take: no head-coaching experience. … You just heard him reference his osmosis and his family. Anybody in this room who doesn’t believe the apple doesn’t go far from the tree has missed it someplace down the road. … I like his baggage. I like his experience.” Jones might be impressed with this decision, but is it correct or not? The team’s performance in the next season will decide.

Clearly, this will be the first head coaching job for Schottenheimer, who has more than 20 years of NFL experience. After his promotion from the coordinator to the head coach, Schottenheimer also reflected his sentiments. “I know the players. I know the building. Our strengths and weaknesses. I know our issues. And the more and more we got into conversations, sitting around and just discussing different things, I wanted it even more,” he added. Hence, now the duo is ready to pitch the team to reach new heights and improve their success potential in the forthcoming seasons.
