Is Jerry Jones' ego blinding him from making simple decisions that could save the Cowboys' season?

The life works in strange ways. Big things have really small solutions while small issues become big. Such a thing is happening at the biggest NFL franchise (money-wise), Dallas Cowboys. The owner Jerry Jones and the receiver CeeDee Lamb have again got into a tussle. It isn’t even such a big issue. But when the ego gets involved, that matter doesn’t remain so simple.

During the November 11 episode of the Dan Patrick Show, hosts discussed the situation at the America’s team. After listening to Jerry Jones’ hilarious interview, in which he denied that the AT&T Stadium needs curtains, they kind of agreed that Lamb’s demands were right. But there’s a surprise.

The AT&T stadium already has curtains. They are often used when there’s a concert or event. But they all agreed that Jerry Jones was sabotaging his team’s chances by not addressing the glare issues. CeeDee Lamb was caught completely off guard with hands in front of his face, as he couldn’t see the ball. But Jones has a different reason behind it.

The owner has put his hard-earned money behind building the stadium. AT&T is a $1.3 billion ‘Taj Mahal,’ as labeled by Dan Patrick on his show, for him. While talking about the stadium, the analyst said, “But that’s his Taj Mahal; he built this thing, and, you know, it was state-of-the-art, everybody loved it, Vegas Jumbotron, everything’s bigger in Texas. And now, all of a sudden, you know, you got the sun.

It’s his dream project. No one disagrees! But there’s no extra investment needed to fulfill CeeDee Lamb’s demand. The curtains are already installed. There’s no problem in using them when Jones’ team players are requesting.

Did Jerry Jones set his team for 2024 failure?

One interesting thing came up during the conversation on the Dan Patrick Show. The team has 9 home games this off-season. And with this type of blockage by the Sun, the team would be risking their success. They are already struggling.

After 10 weeks, the Cowboys are in the 3rd position in the NFC East with 3 wins and 6 losses. Jerry Jones was angry when the team lost the week 6 game against the Detroit Lions by 9-47. It was crushing. However, there was a theory that Jerry Jones wanted his team to perform poorly so that he could dismantle the team and assemble fresh talent.

His misleading statements have resulted in such a situation at the Cowboys. Fans don’t know what is happening. He recently said that he wouldn’t fire any coach, including the HC Mike McCarthy. But the HC certainly risks losing the locker room’s respect if he cannot convince the owner to listen to his players.

The fans wanted a great show from their team. No one knows when the 3-decade drought of the Super Bowl will end. This year doesn’t look like that. The owner and the players promised them but couldn’t deliver. How will they end their season? We’ll find out soon.
