The New York Jets wrapped up their season with a win over the Miami Dolphins. They beat Mike McDaniel‘s squad 32-20, crushing their last hope of making it to the postseason. Not the kind of game you’d expect from the Jets. Aaron Rodgers-led team winning was a rare sight this year. Amid all this, Jets HC Jeff Ulbrich made his feelings clear about the QB.

As the season wraps up for them, we’ll soon get answers about whether the Jets will continue with Rodgers next season. But the coach had some thoughts about him. Ulbrich said post-game, He can still play at a high level, I know that. There was times this year when he was really hurt, and he was playing through that because of like I’ve said before, his obligation to his teammates and his love for this game.” In the impressive week 18 win, Rodgers scored four TDs racking up 274 yards in his final game of the season. He might have to bid adieu to the Jets, but the coach’s words definitely indicates that Rodgers still have grit for the high level football.

The coach continued with his praises, saying, “He wanted to play 17 off of an Achilles at 40-plus years old. So that was a major part of his drive this year, and what an amazing accomplishment. And saying that, finally getting an opportunity to get healthy towards the end there, we got to see that he can still play this game at a very, very high level.” He played well on Sunday if only he had played like this earlier.

Rodgers’s season with the Jets didn’t go quite as planned. Making his debut in 2023, he was sidelined early with an Achilles injury. And this year, we’ve all seen just how tough of a season the Jets have had. Anyway, after back-to-back disappointing seasons, the QB’s future with the team remains uncertain.

After the win, while talking to the media, Aaron Rodgers shared his stance on continuing with the Jets.

Aaron Rodgers to have a meeting with Woody Johnson

Can Aaron Rodgers still lead the Jets to glory, or is it time for him to retire?

Have an interesting take?

The New York Jets have been at the center of controversies all year. From the firing of Robert Saleh to Woody Johnson listening to his teen sons when making team decisions, it’s been a wild ride. A-Rod has also been in hot water several times. First, he was accused of favoring his friends over the team. The QB was also said to be the reason behind Saleh’s firing. The former Packers star was then reportedly accused of skipping medical tests to avoid being taken off the gridiron. Woah! It’s been a crazy year for the team. Now, after the unsuccessful season, as questions about moving forward with Rodgers arise, he shared his thoughts on it.

I just need some time away to think about my future in the game, and my future here if they want me to be a part of the next phase. Either way I’m thankful for my two years here,” said Rodgers. People have been throwing all sorts of criticism in the QB’s direction, asking him to retire already. Rodgers, now 41 years old, has been gracing the gridiron for 19 years after making his debut with the Packers in 2005. I don’t know… I’m looking forward to those conversations with Woody (Johnson),” said Rodgers when asked about his plans.

Well, it’ll be interesting to see who the Jets go with. Will they stick with the veteran QB, or will they go for someone younger? Hopefully, Woody won’t be asking his teen sons again about the QB decision.
