Is Jayden Daniels' health the only thing keeping the Commanders' hopes alive this season?

Out of all the rookie quarterbacks this season, Jayden Daniels has certainly left his mark. In the first 6 games, the QB had 125 of 166 passes (75.3% completion, the highest in season till now) with 6 touchdowns. His rushing game was also on point with 63 carries in 322 yards and 4 touchdowns. Hence, everyone had high hopes from Daniels in the week 7 matchup against Panthers. But alas, it all shattered as soon as the game started.

Bad news for Commanders! Jayden Daniels just walked off the field holding his ribs in the first quarter of the game. While the QB has been marked as questionable to return, his mother posted a relieving update for the fans. She took to X, and wrote, “He’s fine.” But what exactly happened?

The Commanders had 11-play, 85 yard drive when the QB walked off to the sidelines and sat down on a bench. Initially, the medical team checked him there. But they later took him to the blue tent. After a few minutes, he came out of the tent and made passes on the sidelines. However, the pain was there.

They did what worried most of the fans: took Jayden Daniels to the locker room! However, as indicated by his mom another source confirmed the good news. The X-Ray scans didn’t reveal any major injury. That’s a great relief for many Commanders supporters. Before getting injured, the rookie had 2 for 2 passes with 6 passing yards and 50 rushing yards.
