Can the Commanders survive without Jayden Daniels, or is their season already doomed?

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels got off to a flying start on his NFL debut. In the first game of the 2024 season against the Buccaneers, he became the first rookie QB to rush for 80 yards and score two touchdowns on debut. However, the Commanders lost that game by 37-20. The week 2 game against the New York Giants gave a scare to the fans.

During the 2nd quarter, Jayden Daniels ran for the first down but took a hard hit. He hit his ribs with his helmet. Trainers checked the QB and took him to the sidelines. Jeff Driskel replaced him. However, he wasn’t out for long.

Returning to the field to take charge, he kept them in contention. While the Commanders were trailing by 12-9 during half-time, Daniels and the team kept pursuing a win. Kicker Austin Seibert scored 7 field goals today, with the game ending in their favor by 21-18. However, when the QB was injured, fans shared some interesting insights.

While one fan mentioned that Jayden Daniels is injury-prone because of his thinner stature compared to other QBs in the league, another one pointed out that he tries to run (too much) with the ball. The coaches need to work on his sliding technique if they want to prolong his run in the season. The QB weighs 210 pounds and needs to bulk up to the average weight of NFL quarterbacks, 225 pounds.
