Aaron Rodgers impressed by Jayden Daniels—Is this the passing of the torch?

Aaron Rodgers led the New York Jets to another victory this season, but the sportsman inside him is not letting him celebrate this victory alone. On The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers showed how invested he was in the week 3 games of Washington Commanders.

After the Thursday football game against the Patriots, Rodgers was free to kick back and relax while watching all the Sunday games. Turns out, he had both his eyes set on the Commanders. To be precise, Terry McLaurin and Jayden Daniels.

While talking to the former punter on his show, Jets quarterback showed how impressed he was by the one specific touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals. He referred to the moment when all the other athletes were covered several yards away from the end zone, but Terry was still open to potential passes.

Jayden Daniels then threw an accurate ball to the wide receiver, who ended up catching it and scored a crazy touchdown against Cincinnati. Rodgers gave him a compliment, from one QB to another, “[Jayden] Daniels played so good last night… He knew there was pressure and he knew he had to get it up.

Of course, Daniels wasn’t the only highlight in this moment. Instead, this compliment was a testimony to McLaurin and Daniels’ on-field chemistry. This is exactly why Aaron Rodgers went on to appreciate Terry McLaurin’s humility when his quarterback needed it the most.

Aaron Rodgers gave Terry his due credits

Aaron Rodgers impressed by Jayden Daniels—Is this the passing of the torch?

Have an interesting take?

Sure, you must have a favorite player on your favorite team, but you can’t disregard the fact that winning an NFL game is a team effort. All the positions are so well-placed on the gridiron that they complement each other.

A wide receiver tends to be a quarterback’s favorite target to hand the ball to. This is why they are often covered tightly and that is where the Cincinnati Bengals lacked in that one touchdown.

Daniels and his offensive team were so far away from the end zone that the opponents probably never saw this coming. Terry McLaurin caught nearly a 28-yard pass and still didn’t boast it around.

Even on the show, Rodgers noted, “Terry McLaurin has a thousand yards, I saw this thing last night, with 10 different quarterbacks throwing the ball before Jayden. But his humility in that moment.

The NFL legend closed his praise by claiming how essential it is to have your best players be the best people too.
