And yes, this will also be a face-off between Jayden Daniels and Lamar Jackson. With the MVP of the season, debate ignited. Jayden had some words of wisdom from before the coveted game.

Be it fans or the experts of the arena, the comparisons between the two quarterbacks are galore. But the Commanders’ rookie QB is not a fan. On being compared to other QBs, including Lamar, Jayden Daniels said, “I don’t like when people try to compare me to Lamar. We’re two different players… Appreciate everybody for who they are.” The experts feel the Commanders’ win in the Week 6 game can put Daniels ahead of Big Truzz in the race for the MVP.

Lamar Jackson is the leading contender for this season’s MVP. Till Week 5, he has 9 TDs with over 1200 passing yards. Moreover, he has been intercepted just once, which is a better performance than the Kansas City Chiefs‘ Patrick Mahomes. However, Daniels, playing his first-ever season, is giving a tough fight to the accomplished counterpart.

The Commanders are on a roll this season. Ever since 2008, they are a 4-1 team in the competition. In the 2023 season, they finished last in their division with a 4-13 record. This season, they are on top. But who turned the tables for the Washington Commanders? Jayden Daniels is the key that opened the gateway to success for them.

He is surpassing all the rookies in passing yards and rushing yards. Also, Daniels is the first rookie QB in the past 54 years to lead his team to over 150 points in the initial five games of a season (155). Till Week 5 so far, he has had 101 completions out of 131 attempts. He has a passer rating of 106.3, which is a remarkable feat for a rookie.

Jayden’s accomplishments have impressed experts as well. Pat McAfee penned his praise on Twitter, “If the vote was today Jayden Daniels is the MVP of the NFL.” A historic rookie season start has earned Jayden +6 OVR in 5 weeks. Thanks to his mobility, Daniels has been really effective when throwing on the run. According to Next Gen Stats, he’s completed 7 out of 8 passes for 113 yards while scrambling this season. On top of that, he’s also added a league-leading 244 rushing yards on those kinds of plays.
