This has been a dream for me since I was a little kid to be in this position that I’m in today. I’m really just trying to improve. I know that if I control things that I can control, everything’s going to play out the right way. So I’m not even too nervous about that at all.” Starting his high school career at Roy’s High, in his own words, Jaxson Dart had a dream to be a quarterback in the big league. And that dream is all set to come true. In fact, with his kick-off in the league, he would become the third QB ever drafted from Roy, after Jim McMahon in 1982 and Zach Wilson in 2021.

Dart has surged into the spotlight as the (commonly acknowledged) third-best QB in this year’s draft. With final regular-season stats – 249-for-363 for 3,875 yards passing, 26 touchdowns and six interceptions – he is arguably one of the most pro-ready arms in the class. So, the big question is: which franchise will punch this young quarterback’s ticket to kick off his NFL career? Well, the answer to this, even before the Draft begins, seems to have been found in a new upload of an NFL GM’s son.

New York Giants’ GM Joe Schoen’s son, Carson Schoen, uploaded a story on his official Instagram account on Wednesday. In this new update, he could be seen posting a hype video of Jaxson Dart. Sharing details about it, NFL insider Dov Kleiman wrote on X, “Giants GM Joe Schoen’s son posted a Jaxson Dart highlight reel on IG and then set his account to private…The Giants have the No. 3 pick in the draft. Dart would THRIVE in New York under Daboll.”

Given the timing of it, Dart’s highlight reel on his IG story is unlikely to be a mistake or just a fan video thing. This incident draws its fishiness as it raised speculations that the Giants are going to draft Dart with their No. 3 pick in round 1. Just this offseason, they already signed Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson, along with extending their ties with Tommy DeVito. But as all are veterans, the team could look for a young and long-term QB from the draft.

But earlier, the reports were that the winner of the 2024 C Spire Conerly Trophy, Jaxson Dart, might not be with the No. 3 overall pick for them. The rumor was, if Dart is still around late Thursday night, then the Giants would trade back into the first round to get him. Head coach Brian Daboll also appreciated Dart’s toughness and expressed his interest in him. However, as per new reports, the franchise may have decided to go with Dart as the third overall pick.

They might even consider trading down to get some additional draft capital alongside Dart, who isn’t projected by many to go that high in the pecking order. But here things could be challenging, as the 21-year-old is emerging as a favorite of other teams as well.

What’s your perspective on:

Will Jaxson Dart be the next big thing in New York, or is it all just hype?

Jaxson Dart the choice for two teams other than the Giants!

Jaxson Dart’s moment is almost here, and the hype is getting louder. Adam Schefter, who’s always tapped in, says the Giants, Browns, and Saints are seriously watching him. And Schefter believes one of them could lock him in as their next franchise quarterback. There’s even a chance Dart sneaks into the first round. Either way, the spotlight’s on him. After racking up over 4,200 yards, 29 touchdowns, and just six picks last season at Ole Miss, he’s made his case. Now, he’s hoping one of these teams takes the chance.

The Saints could be the ones. They hold the No. 9 pick and have been watching him for a while. Back at the Senior Bowl, his teammates named him the top quarterback after a week of practice. Then came his pro day – and the Saints sent assistant GM Jeff Ireland to see him throw in person. That’s not nothing. With Derek Carr‘s injury still lingering, it makes sense. If they really want Dart, they might not wait. A trade-up could be on the table.

The Browns, who are also dealing with Deshaun Watson’s injury, are sitting up high with the No. 2 pick. If they’re serious, they could grab him before anyone else gets the chance. So now the question is – who’s going to move first? The Giants, the Saints, or the Browns? Speak of dark horses, huh?
