As Jason Kelce retired from the NFL after playing 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, he left an unforgettable legacy. The center announced the heartbreaking decision in a press conference with an emotional speech where he said his goodbyes to fans and Philadelphia.
However, Jason will continue his podcast, “New Heights,” with his brother, Travis. Despite their amicable relationship, the siblings have often been compared to each other. While Travis has cemented his position in the league with two back-to-back Super Bowl wins, a former Eagles player feels the older Kelce is a better athlete.

On their sports podcast, Raw Room, former Philadelphia player King Dunlap, clearly chose his favorite Kelce brother. Rec League star Alex Sweet started by congratulating the center on his recent retirement. In the conversation, Dunlap acknowledged that while his opinion might be biased, being Kelce’s former teammate, he feels that the retired center is one of the best of all time.
“If you ask me, he’s arguably the greatest center to have ever played the game.” Dunlap continued, “Yeah, I have probably have a bias because I was his teammate, and I know him, but how many other centers you gonna throw up there that’s gon go against what he did for his career?”
Dunlap concluded by asserting the view he’s had for years. “And I’ve said this for years. He’s a better athlete than Travis.”

“Kelce has a mean streak” per Matthews
The retired center was a sixth-round pick and was the lightest offensive lineman to enter the NFL since 2000. Carolina’s tight end feels that Kelce paved the way for “smaller linemen” as they get a chance and are not immediately “written off” for being a smaller size. Moreover, Matthews feels another quality makes Kelce unique.
“The thing bout him though that a lot of people don’t realize is, he got a mean streak though,” said Matthews, getting a “yes” from Dunlap. He continued that a player needs to “be a little sick to play football.” Matthews said that while Kelce wouldn’t harm the Eagles in any way, “he might hurt somebody else.” Dunlap agreed and said there needs to be one aggressive player like that on the offensive line always.
