Game 2 of Week 1 between the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles got more and more intense with time. Both teams were fighting for the edge all throughout the clash. In an expected sense, this led to the frustration of many, including the Eagles’ former player, Jason Kelce. After Jordan Love scored his second touchdown of the game in the third quarter and led his team ahead of the Eagles, Kelce appeared frustrated on social media.
He took to X, and wrote in Portuguese, “foda-se, sim,” which translates “f–ck you” in English. Hence, it is safe to say that the former Eagles center did not mince words or emotions as the Brazilian ground lit up with NFL excitement. Eagles fans from Brazil looked happy and excited as Kelce opted to showcase his frustration in Portuguese.
One of them wrote, “ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? I’m Brazilian and I am freaking out about this!!!! COME TO BRAZIL JASON.” On the other hand, another NFL enthusiast commented, “(laughing emoji) stop cursing Kelce lm-o.” However, the fan craze for Jason Kelce didn’t stop there! Many also requested the legendary athlete to come to Brazil, as one emphasized, “Brazilians who love you very much will freak out about this. you are an idol for many people here and we wanted to give you all our love, legend!”

There is no doubt that Kelce, especially after his retirement, has become a worldwide sensation for NFL fans. This is also evident from the fact that Jason Kelce was the third top-searched NFL player outside of America. Even when he was playing with the Eagles, the team was the fifth-top-searched NFL team in foreign, as per ESPN’s last year’s data.
Hence, being such a popular personality among NFL fans in the world, due to him being one of the greatest centers in NFL history; it was pretty understood why Brazil also loved him. Furthermore, his outgoing personality and New Heights podcast also contribute to his popularity, making him the star of the NFL.
As Senior Vice President, Global Head of Marketing and Brand, Brian Povinelli said, “As a player, Jason Kelce inspired an entire generation of fans to pursue the game they love.” Indeed, fans can’t get over him – be it in Philadelphia or Brazil. Nevertheless, as he has retired from the league now, Jason’s obsession hasn’t faded yet from the fans’ eyes, who wished he would have started this season too.

Although the Eagles won 34-29 in a close game against the Packers, Jason Kelce’s absence was the talk of the town. Things got off to a rough start for Philadelphia, with Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley struggling to make an impact. This happened when Barkley lost five yards on the first play. So obviously, it wasn’t the start the Eagles were hoping for, and hence fans, couldn’t help but miss the former Eagles star Jason Kelce.
In fact, the most important moment in the game, where Kelce was remembered, was “Hurts and new starting center Cam Jurgens mistimed the snap, leading to a fumble that Green Bay recovered. The Packers then capitalized it with another field goal.” This stressed out many NFL fans, and even Kelce himself couldn’t help but join in the social media debate with a light-hearted jab, by commenting, “Only up from here.”
Nevertheless, despite the rocky beginning, Hurts managed to bounce back later in the game. He led a strong drive, connecting with Barkley for an 18-yard touchdown, giving the Eagles some much-needed momentum. Consequently, he managed to win their first game of the 2024 season.

Happy with it, the retired athlete finally expressed his elation for the Eagles and wrote on X: “Eagles 1-0, great first game of the year against a very good Packers team. Sloppy game, but when they were executing man, they are rolling.” In addition to that, he also shared a piece of advice for Philadelphia, by saying, “Lot of good in this one, clean up some of the first game jitters on O, and stop the explosives on D and we are rolling baby!!”
Nevertheless, as Jason suggested, the Eagles still have a lot to do. Hence, the upcoming matchups would be crucial for the Birds, and the injury concerns will keep on lingering!
