Jason Kelce recently got flared up on his social media when a comment unleashed a debate about the benefits of washing one’s feet! The retired NFL center even called out the soap industry’s mammoths, labeling it “Big Soap”!

The whole saga started when an X user wrote, “Jason Kelce looks like he doesn’t wash his legs or feet.” Kelce defended himself with the reply, “What kind of weirdo washes their feet….” This dig was met with mixed reactions, some joking in favor of him while others trolled the former Eagles star, with the Eagles Nation commenting, “You reading the replies right now thinking we all were gonna agree.”

However, one comment caught Kelce’s eye, and he said, “Let em know, from the rooftop”. The post that incited such a response read, “Fun fact – there was a “study” done where they measured the amount of bacteria between those who actively scrub/wash their legs/feet, vs those who didn’t and there was more bacteria on those who actively washed their legs/feet”. It further claimed that according to the study, legs scrubbed with soapy water had “exponentially more bacteria growth on it.”

Kelce still had to have his say and seemed to have gotten the lifeline he needed in his defense! He went on a rant about how soap corporations propagate the notion of the importance of washing to keep the skin healthier, whereas any dermatologist not under their influence would not agree. He further said only “hot spots” should be necessarily washed regularly.

Knowing Kelce, nobody can be sure if he actually believes in the notion or was just poking some harmless fun on the internet. The comment section sure had a field day supporting, negating, or simply joking around Kelce’s tweet.

Reactions to Jason Kelce’s “Big Soap” comment

An internet user was quick to notice an interesting choice of words in Kelce’s tweet and even formed a possible connection regarding it! They speculated whether the phrase “diabolical lies” was a hint towards Harrison Butker’s recent controversial speech.

A few users even delved into the washing debate and tried verifying the quoted theory. An X user called the previous comment about the study “more of an internet myth than a scientifically validated fact.” While another user fact-checked the quoted study. They said that the study talks about increasing bacteria, while the “number of fungi was not significantly different amongst groups.”
