Jason Kelce has been handed an unexpected blow by his brother. Travis Kelce has brought a news to the Eagles’ center that the entire community might find hard to digest any time soon. The NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is reportedly thinking about banning the infamous ‘Brotherly Shove’, aka the ‘Tush Push.’
The play is synonymous with the Eagles, and it’s their signature move keeping quarterback Jalen Hurts at the front. But the Chiefs’ Kelce disclosed during a live episode ‘New Heights’ podcast that the play’s time might be coming to an end at the NFL. Jason however, had an equally savage reply to the update.

After the tight end mentioned that the NFL commissioner wanted to ban the Brotherly Shove, the center let him speak for a few minutes. But then came up with a reply that the tight end probably wasn’t expecting. After revealing as much as he could, the younger Kelce asked his brother what he thought about it.
“Listen, ban it. Really at this point, I don’t care,” Jason blatantly told the live audience. As savage as it gets!

Although Travis revealed later that the decision would come to a voting and scrutiny process before getting the final nod, he had a further plot twist. The reviewing panel consisted of three members from the Eagles’ NFC East rival side, according to the tight end. Doesn’t sound good for the Eagles! But what is the play that has thoroughly come under review?
What is the ‘Brotherly Shove’?
The ‘Brotherly Shove’ or ‘Tush Push’, is the signature move of the Philadelphia Eagles. As the name suggests, the team forms a single line to push the leading player toward the end zone, covering him from the opposition’s defense. During the Eagles’ games, it’s quarterback Jalen Hurts who takes the lead role in the play. But oppositions and the pundits have often accused the team of breaking fair play with it in recent years.

The team has benefitted numerous times from the unique formation that they have mastered over the years, but the league seems to not like it. Although the fairness of the play has been scrutinized a lot, it was never approached by Goodell in person. But with the current buildup and Kelce’s attitude toward it, it looks like we won’t be seeing the play hanging around for much longer. Although the rest of the team and the fanbase are yet to share their views/disagreements.
