Jason Kelce might have retired from the NFL but the former Eagles’ center has never been more involved in the sporting world. Apart from keeping up his team rivalries and adding to Joe Burrow’s advice to Roger Goodell about 18-game seasons, the father of two is also giving fans his two cents about the upcoming scheduled kickoff matches.

In a recent episode of the New Heights podcast, the Kelce brothers discussed how the Kansas City Chiefs would be facing Lamar Jackson and the Ravens on September 5th at Arrowhead Stadium. While recalling their rival team’s off-season news, the 36-year-old remembered they had signed the former Titans’ running back, Derrick Henry. The signing left Travis Kelce stating, “So now their running game that was already amongst the best in the league just got the best in the league again.”

Although the younger Kelce gave the team their props, his brother took it to another level. Jason exclaimed, “They got Derrick Henry coming downhill, and they got probably the shiftiest… Um, dude, Lamar is ridiculous.” He also added that Jackson being “one of the most dangerous quarterbacks to play this game.” That was when Travis chimed in and said it would be a “fun match-up” and was definitely “something to get excited for.”

Just a couple of days ago, the news broke that the Baltimore Ravens would be kicking off the season with the Chiefs on X. The match was set for September and would be a rematch for QB Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes. However, this time would be a little different with young players like Xavier Worthy, Kingsley Suamataia, Zay Flowers, Isaiah Likely, and more. With the newly drafted players still finding their footing in the organization, fans might only find out who the strong team is on the big day.

For the last couple of years, the Chiefs have managed to reign victorious with Mahomes, Kelce, Isiah Pacheco, and more. While the world might be looking forward to the showdown, the 27-year-old has previously revealed that he does not like competing against the soon-to-be “Hall Of Famer.” However, that feeling may have changed given the recent AFC Championship loser. After all, Kansas had won that round with somewhat of an easy win with a 17-10 score.

With a rather stunning lineup of newly drafted athletes and a few months of practice in tow, there is a rather good chance that the Ravens could take their chances for revenge and come out on top. However, Mahomes and the Chiefs will not let that happen without putting up a fight. After all, the team has their eyes on another Super Bowl win this year, and losing their opener could hurt their chances, if not their motivation.
