In a surprising twist, professional football and blacksmithing are set to collide. NFL legend Jason Kelce and his brother Travis Kelce have been personally invited by renowned Forged in Fire judge Doug Marcaida to trade in their cleats for hammers and anvils on the 8.2-rated show

While often visualized charging down the gridiron, the Kelce brothers may soon find themselves forging red-hot steel into lethal blades. This unexpected invitation presents an unconventional path for the recently retired Jason and his All-Pro sibling to channel their competitive fire into an entirely new arena.

In a social media response, Doug Marcaida, the $3 million net worth judge from History Channel’s highly-rated “Forged in Fire,” has thrown down the gauntlet to NFL stars Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce. “Hey @JasonKelce, heard you might have what it takes to make it in the forge?” Marcaida taunted in a video message. “If you and Travis ever want to battle it off outside of the field, come on over to our forge.” Jason responded by retweeting that it would be his dream come true.

Jason has already expressed his desire to experience new adventures like blacksmithing during retirement. “I like the TV show Forged in Fire. I want to go to a blacksmith and make a freaking knife!” he revealed in their recent New Heights podcast episode.

This surprising invitation presents an extraordinary opportunity for the recently retired Jason Kelce and his All-Pro tight-end brother Travis. Instead of clashing on the gridiron, they could soon be heating, hammering, and crafting lethal blades under Marcaida’s training on the popular bladesmithing competition show. “We heard that you might have what it takes to make it ‘keal,'” Marcaida continued, referencing his iconic catchphrase.

Speaking of new challenges, while Jason prepares to trade weight room reps for calorie-tracking apps in his quest to lose weight, Travis has an altogether different transformation in mind. The younger Kelce hopes to one-up his brother’s knife-making plans, audaciously suggesting: “I’m gonna make a sword. Don’t do that without me… we could play fruit ninja in real life.”

With his NFL career officially in the rearview mirror, Jason Kelce is pursuing a holistic “retirement makeover” beyond his physical appearance. Yes, the newly minted former Eagles center has set an ambitious goal to trim down to 250 pounds after playing north of 285 during his final season. “I downloaded MyFitnessPal and just started tracking calories,” Kelce explained his weight loss approach. “As long as I maintain my protein intake… you’ll start to lose weight, that’s the plan.”

However, Kelce’s definition of the ideal retired life involves much more than chiseling away at his body. The lure of embracing fresh, unconventional pursuits is an even more excellent motivator. Inspired by his wife Kylie’s handyman abilities, Kelce hopes to finally give a hand around the house. “It’s embarrassing when your wife knows how to do more housework,” he admits.

With Doug Marcaida now extending an open invitation for the brothers to visit the actual Forged in Fire set, Jason Kelce could soon have his admittedly unique aspiration become a reality. The former Super Bowl champion seems energized by the prospect, perhaps yearning to stoke those simmering competitive fires again — this time directed at his brother rather than offensive linemen. No matter the outcome, Kelce’s all-in embrace of new challenges will reinforce his retirement.
