Harrison Butker’s controversial “homemaker” speech is continuing to make headlines. While his comments outraged some of the NFL fans, Whoopi Goldberg and Jason Kelce seemed to agree that everyone was allowed to have their own opinions on the matter. In fact, his wife, Kylie had not liked what she had heard on the New Heights podcast. Although the 36-year-old had chosen to joke with his wife then, it looks like social media might have taken the joke a little out of context.
In a recent post on X, Kelce addressed netizens who had a problem with him not supporting Butker. One former fan had even called the star out on being “hypocritical” as Kylie too was “a homemaker.” The father of two had enough of the comments and decided to set the record straight. He stated, “I don’t think of Kylie as a homemaker, I think of her as my wife. I think of her as a mother.”
Responding to this, because I have seen a number of people say it. I don’t think of Kylie as a homemaker, I think of her as my wife. I think of her as a mother. She has an occupation, as do I, and we keep our house the best we can. Our marriage is a partnership, we are equals… https://t.co/TnNsTW4o4B

The former Eagles center elaborated, “Our marriage is a partnership, we are equals who are figuring it out on the daily.” He also emphasized that there were no expectations between them except that the family comes first. Jason Kelce ended his post by saying, “I want to be clear, I’m not downplaying that (being a homemaker) at all, but that is not our family dynamic.” After all, the 36-year-old has proved to be Kylie’s biggest supporter over the years.
Some fans could not see past the “make me a sandwich” joke. However, the 36-year-old had already explained his stance on the Butker situation.

In a recent episode of the New Heights Podcast with Travis Kelce, the former Eagles star, Jason Kelce sat down to discuss their thoughts on the Kansas City Chiefs kicker, Harrison Butker’s recent viral speech. While both the brothers agreed that not all of it sat right with them, the 36-year-old stated, “I can listen to somebody talk and take great value in it, like when he’s talking about the importance of family and the importance that a great mother can make.”

The older Kelce sibling also gave his listeners some advice as he stated, “When you’re listening to somebody talk, you take things in that you like. You listen to other things and you say, I don’t f-king like that.” With Jason claiming to see some good in Butker’s words, it left a bitter taste in his wife, Kylie’s mouth, initially. However, with the 36-year-old setting the record straight with the world, he may have just gotten himself out of trouble.
Although it looks like the spotlight may have shifted to his younger brother, Travis. With the 34-year-old choosing to stand by his teammate, yet shun his statements, he has found himself being called a “knucklehead” by a former KC columnist, Jason Whitlock. The 34-year-old has not responded to the NFL writer’s statements. It seems Butker’s stance has created a hot mess for NFL players, especially the Chiefs that doesn’t seem to be getting resolved anytime soon.
