We thought that the New Heights podcast would become boring once the season was over. But we were so wrong! Jason and Travis Kelce are keeping up the energy and enthusiasm on the podcast even after the season has ended. And in the latest podcast, they had a conversation without whom this podcast would not have even existed.
However, it was not just light-hearted topics that they talked about. Kelce and his former teammate also got real about why the Eagles had such a disappointing season.

It’s been more than two years since the show has been running. Wondering who inspired the Kelce brothers to start the show? Chris Long. He was a DE who most recently played for Jason’s team, the Philadelphia Eagles. He gave props to Long on the show itself. “Chris is a big reason why we started this.” Apparently, Long advised Jason to “do it while you’re still playing.”
It seems that Jason always wanted to do a podcast, but probably after he retired. 92 percenters can only thank God that Chris pushed him to do it. Without him, there would be no such club.
However, Chris Long also dropped his two cents on the Eagles’ rollercoaster season and what went wrong.

Long didn’t hold back, diving straight into the heart of the matter. “There’s no shortcut, guys gotta play well, they have to do their jobs,” he remarked candidly. He pointed out the glaring personnel issues, acknowledging that while every player is NFL-caliber, deficiencies in key positions like LB and the secondary can throw a wrench in the team’s plans. Long sympathized with the defensive squad, noting that lapses in run fits affect everyone, not just those on the front line.
Long’s got a point. The Eagles had a laundry list of problems this season, making it impossible for them to be the playoff contenders they wanted to be. It was tough to watch as their struggles seemed to intensify as the season wore on, especially after their hot 10-1 start.

But let’s not forget that Philly showed flashes of brilliance. They’d been to the Super Bowl just the year before, and they kicked off this season looking like they could make another deep playoff run. So, while things fell apart this time around, there’s hope that they can bounce back next season. Maybe they’ll find the consistency they’ve been missing and make another strong postseason push. Only time will tell.
