In a thrilling wild-card game, the Detroit Lions secured a remarkable 24-23 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Quarterback, Matthew Stafford, immaculately led the team. The atmosphere at Ford Field reached extraordinary levels, with the crowd generating decibels comparable to a jet engine.
Eminem, the iconic rapper, shared the excitement, standing alongside Pro Football Hall of Famers, Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson. This marked a historic moment for the Lions, hosting their first home playoff game in thirty years. Seeing Eminem supporting his team, the Kelce brothers also remembered a core memory about the rapper on their podcast.

In one of the latest episodes of the ‘New Heights’ podcast, Travis Kelce pointed out what an enthralling vibe there must be at the Lions vs. Rams game. Then he mentioned about Eminem being at the stadium to support his team. Right at that moment, Jason Kelce reminded his younger brother about the first CD he ever owned. Jason mentioned that Travis bought Eminem’s album as his first one ever.

Then Travis Kelce instantly got excited and said, “‘The Eminem Show’ baby. The intro to that album is ‘The Curtains’.” However, the original name of the album intro is ‘Curtains Up’. Jason Kelce then stated that he can still remember what happened to that CD and branded it one of the most hilarious things that has ever happened. The Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end didn’t speak any further, though.
Jason narrated, “Dad got into the car, after you had bought that CD. And he took it out and threw it out the window.” Travis instantly laughed hysterically as he recalled the incident. Jason surprisingly said, “I can’t believe you don’t remember this. It’s one of the funniest things I ever saw happen.” Well, even though Travis Kelce seemed to love Eminem’s music, Papa Kelce wasn’t really a fan. However, Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift seem to share his love for the rapper, as she had expressed her admiration in the past as well.

Long before the Eras Tour, Taylor Swift surprised her fans with unconventional covers. This also includes a resurfaced video showcasing her rendition of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself.” The ‘You Belong with Me’ singer demonstrated her versatility by performing a country or pop version of the same Eminem song with her guitar. It was filmed at Van Andel Arena in West Michigan during Taylor’s Speak Now World Tour in July 2011.
This performance served as a tribute to the 8 Mile star, who hails from the same state. Swift even said in an interview, “I love hip-hop so much. There’s something so honest about it.” In return, back in 2016, Eminem acknowledged the talent of the 12x Grammy Winner. The rapper thought that the pop star is “really cool” and he loves her music.
