Kelce’s effect on the team cannot only be measured in just terms of stats and trophies. The 36-year-old was also a leader, a mentor, and a fan favorite. But who can fill the void left by him? Here are five potential candidates, from free agents to draft picks, who could be the next Eagles center in 2024.

Cam Jurgens – The Eagles

This 24-year-old athlete was drafted by the Eagles in the 2022 NFL Draft. Jurgens like most players in the center position also plays guard. He was drafted to be the long-term replacement for Jason Kelce. Currently, he has the biggest claim on Kelce’s starter position within the squad.

Ryan Jensen – The Buccaneers

Jensen is a veteran of the position and has been the driving force behind the Bucs’ offense. In 2024, he will be a free agent. The 32-year-old is one of the best options available for the Eagles, to replace Kelce and have a fighting chance in the 2024 season. With the Super Bowl winner’s experience at their disposal, the Eagles can march onward easily.

Connor Williams – The Dolphins

The 26-year-old has juggled between the center and guard positions. Playing for the Cowboys and the Dolphins, Williams has shown sparks of brilliance. But he has been limited due to injuries, he will also be a free agent, in March 2024. He could bolster the center ranks within the Eagles system.

One of the most sought-after players in the center position in this year’s draft will be Powers-Johnson. The 20-year-old plays with a mean streak for the Oregon Ducks. He is instrumental in generating a push at the initial point of attack. He can be drafted to compete with Jurgens for the starting position and is a long-term replacement.

Zach Frazier – The Mountaineers

Frazier is the absolute perfect replacement for Kelce within the Eagles’ system. The 20-year-old is built just like Kelce and has displayed his foot quickness and agility to throw off defenders while playing for the West Virginia college football team. He too can be drafted this year, and provide competition to Jurgens for the starting role in the 2024 season.
