The Chiefs and the Eagles are set to face off on February 9th at the Super Bowl. Fans of both teams have been consistently showing their support while poking fun at their rivals. Although it has been great to follow all the excitement, the highlight during this time is the NFL’s biggest ‘sibling rivalry.’ Yes, Jason and Travis Kelce enjoy playful banter, regularly teasing each other’s teams, is just great fun. To add to that, Taylor Swift is now also a part of it.
Recently, when Jason Kelce made an appearance on the SPORTSRADIOWIP Morning Show, Joe DeCamara made him an interesting offer: “We have seen for the last two years now, many times, Kansas City scores a touchdown, particularly if it’s your brother. Taylor Swift is in the booth, she is going crazy, the hugs are going all over the place, goes viral. Hundred Bucks to you.” He continued, “Saquan Barkley scores a touchdown, you hug Taylor Swift and say GO BIRDS.” An intriguing offer, right?

Interestingly, while Taylor Swift has been seen wearing a Chiefs jersey and supporting Travis Kelce consistently, she is an Eagles fan. Jason Kelce knows that and said, “Yeah, she grew up here. She knows what everybody cheering for this weekend. She was obviously on the other side of it, but, yeah no, it’s going to be fun.” Swift has mentioned earlier how she is an Eagles fan and well even sang about it.

In 2020, Swift released her song “Gold Rush”, which mentions an Eagles t-shirt. For a couple of years, it was unclear whether Swift was referring to the Philly Eagles or the band ‘The Eagles’. Well, the popstar herself cleared all that up as she said, “I don’t know how large the debate was, but I did see the debate, I have a lyric that says, ‘With my Eagles t-shirt hanging from the door.’ I saw some people wondering if it was the band the Eagles or the team the Eagles, and I love the band the Eagles, but guys, come on. I’m from Philly. Of course, it’s the team.” Well, with that said, it might not be too farfetched for anyone to imagine Jason Kelce winning the bet offered by DeCamara.
Will Jason Kelce root for his brother at the Super Bowl?
Interestingly, the elder Kelce sibling would also be in a similar situation to Taylor Swift. Being an Eagles legend and losing to the Chiefs 2 years back in the Super Bowl, Jason Kelce is bound to have feelings for the team. But on the other side, it’s his brother, who might end up achieving the unthinkable with the Chiefs this season. So the question that everyone has been asking is, who will Jason Kelce support?

Well, the man himself answered the question when he appeared on the New Heights Podcast: “I’ll always root for my brother, but there’s a lot of people in the Philadelphia organization … that feel like an extended family to me …” He continued, “I’m rooting for Philadelphia and I’m rooting for Travis Kelce. That’s the reality of it. No matter what, on game day I’m going to be happy for one of those sides. And I’m going to be sad for the other side.”
Well, both Jason Kelce and Taylor Swift are in the same boat, it seems. They will be rooting for Travis Kelce to do well, while also supporting the Eagles as a team. An interesting family dynamic, right? Well, we find on the 9th what happens, whether it’s Travis Kelce and the Chiefs who do the unthinkable and win the 3-peat or will it be Jason Kelce’s old team Eagles that finally stop the Chiefs? Whatever happens, it’s surely going to be very exciting.
