The Detroit Lions kept their hot streak alive with a huge win over the Minnesota Vikings. Locking up back-to-back division titles. It was the kind of game that gets fans hyped, with the Lions showing they are legit contenders. While the team celebrated the win, Christen Harper, Jared Goff‘s wife, hopped on Instagram to share a sweet throwback moment.
“From our first win 4 years ago when I was on set shooting @si_swimsuit for the first time to now!!! So proud B2B division champs!!!” Harper posted. Her caption hit fans right in the feels, bringing up the early days of Goff’s time with the Lions. Back then, the Lions weren’t division champs-they were just getting started, and so was Harper, who was working on her first Sports Illustrated Swimsuit shoot during that game.
That first win for Goff in Detroit came against the Vikings. It was a hard-fought game, and the Lions pulled off a 29-27 clutch victory, in which Goff had 296 yards with 3 TDs. That was a special one as the Lions had broken their 10-game losing streak in the season. They ended the season with a 3–13 record.

For Harper, it was a special day, too. She was breaking into the big leagues with her swimsuit shoot while cheering on Goff from afar. That mix of personal and professional milestones made it a day to remember for them both.

Harper’s story reminded everyone how much has changed in just four years. “It’s step one,” quarterback Jared Goff said. “We’re proud to be 15-2, NFC North division champs back-to-back, one seed, bye week, all that stuff. We’re proud of it, but this is just tick number one. Check. And tick number two is next.” We definitely can’t forget, how far the Lions have come, right? With a low record in 2021 to NFC champions.
The Lions’ QB lighted the way to playoffs
The Lions’ rise from a rough 3-13 team in 2021 to the NFC’s top dog in 2024 is wild. Back then, Detroit was just starting to rebuild, with Jared Goff coming in fresh from a trade and the roster needing a ton of work. They showed some flashes of hope, but closing games was tough, leaving fans itching for something better. When we see the 2024 season, it’s even better.

Cut to 2024, and the Lions are a whole new squad. With a 15-2 record and back-to-back NFC North titles, they’ve gone from the basement to the top floor. A solid front office and head coach Dan Campbell completely changed the team’s vibe, and Jared Goff stepped up big time.
He racked up over 4,000 yards and 30+ touchdowns this season, all while keeping his passer rating sky-high. His steady play has been key in locking down the NFC North title and the top playoff spot.
