The NFL Draft is here, and you know what that means—pressure’s in the air. Whether chilling at home with family or sitting in that green room with a camera glued to their face, every prospect’s got that same question in their head: “When’s my name gonna be called?” Take it back to the 2000 draft—yeah, that one—when Tom Brady and his family were fully expecting to hear his name in the second, maybe third round.
But nope. Six quarterbacks got picked before him. Teams passed. Brady and his family were still waiting for his name to be called. And then—finally—the Patriots called his name in the sixth round, 199th overall. Sure, now he’s got seven rings and GOAT status, but back then? He thought he might need to dust off his Merrill Lynch resume and start selling insurance.
Fast forward to now, and a few draft prospects are going to feel the same pressure in Green Bay. And no one knows it better than Jared Goff‘s cornerback, Terrion Arnold. Arnold appeared on the Good Morning America show, where he talked about the type of character a prospect needs to be to face not hearing their name on the draft day. “You have to be, like, a really strong person. And then even, like, I have to give props to my teammate, like, Brian Branch,” he said.

“Brian Branch, who came up here, he came to the draft, didn’t hear his name called, and came the second day. Like, he just talks about what type of person and the type of character that he has to even be able to muster up the strength to do that, because most people aren’t doing that.” And when asked what if the same thing happened to his former quarterback at Alabama, Jalen Milroe, who is now entering the NFL draft, Arnold straight-up cleared the air on Milore’s true character.
“Man, if Jalen got called the next week, he would still show up,” he joked. “Like, that’s the type of person he is. And I’m not just saying that because I’m his former teammate, best friend, but, like, we’re true best friends because we’re real with each other.” Well, Milroe is expected to be the fourth quarterback to be picked in the draft. Most probably in the second round.
But when Arnold talked about his character, he wasn’t just addressing Milroe’s thoughts of not getting picked on the draft day. Oh no. He was talking about his overall character. He shared an anecdote about one time when he and Milroe were sitting in a car while it was raining outside. But still, Jalen Milroe went outside to sign autographs.
“This is the same person (Milroe) I was around when it was raining, and it was freezing cold,” Arnold recalled. “We were in the car, and kids were sitting outside who wanted him to sign autographs. He got out of the car and went and sign the autograph. Like, people aren’t doing that.” Now that the draft day is here, Terrion Arnold believes that whatever team signs Milore, they’re getting an electrifying quarterback.
What’s your perspective on:
Will Jalen Milroe's character and resilience make him the next Tom Brady in the NFL?

Terrion Arnold thinks Jalen Milroe is a game-changer QB
Last year’s draft was a quarterback frenzy—six QBs went in the first round, all within the top 12 picks. Names like Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye were off the board before fans could even settle in. Even the teams like the Falcons, who signed Kirk Cousins on a massive deal, drafted Michael Penix Jr. at No. 8. Fast forward to this year, and it’s a whole different vibe.
As per the early mock drafts, Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders are two of the top QB prospects the teams are going to pick in the 1st round. And Jaxson Dart of Ole Miss could be a surprise. The rest? They’re likely waiting until day 2 or 3, and Alabama’s QB, Jalen Milroe, is one of ’em. His former teammate, and best friend, Terrion Arnold, believes that whatever team selects Milroe, they’re going to get a game-changer.

“Whatever team is getting him, not only are they getting a game-changing, electrifying quarterback, they’re getting a leader and a great person,” Arnold noted. Speaking of which, some folks out there believe that Milore is projected to be a second-round pick and will be the fourth quarterback to get off the board in the draft. While others have different opinions.
As per ESPN’s Mel Kiper, the Steelers are going to use their 68th overall pick (3rd round) to draft Milore. Well, the Steelers indeed need a quarterback, and they’re expected to pick one. Whether it’s going to be Dart in round 1 or Milore in round 3, we’ll see. Besides, The Athletic predicted that the Giants are going to pick Milore in the second round with their 34th overall pick.
Milore returned to Alabama in the 2024 season to improve his NFL draft stock. However, considering the guy had a season full of ups and downs, it’s tough to analyze which team will pick him. And there’s still uncertainly over his draft status. Milore wrapped up his final season at Alabama, where he had 2,844 yards and 16 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. And oh, he also rushed for 726 yards and 20 touchdowns.

With many QB-needy teams in the draft, Jalen Milroe could hear his name as early as the second round. Or he might surprise everyone in the first round as well.
