“I can’t believe Cincy got Chase and Higgins both done… CONGRATS TO BENGALS FANS… your team is spending.” Pat McAfee is just as thrilled as Bengals fans after Cincinnati finally did what Joe Burrow had been publicly asking for. Remember when Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase’s contract extensions were still uncertain? Burrow didn’t hesitate to make it clear that the trio wanted to stay together, saying, “We’re confident that we’re going to be able to do what it takes. We all want to stay together, so we want to make it work.” Now, after weeks of uncertainty, Burrow and Bengals fans finally have the good news.
So now, after securing their extensions, both Chase and Higgins must be relieved. Both star WRs stay on the Bengals squad. And now Cincinnati can think about making a Super Bowl run this season, with Burrow, Tee, and Chase remaining together. The news of both Higgins and Chase signing extensions had been making rounds for the past few days. But today, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports confirmed the extensions. “Bengals WRs Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins exclusively tell me they’ve agreed to contract extensions with the team,” wrote Schultz on X.
NFL fans were quick to react to the news, but they weren’t the only ones flooding the comment section of Jordan’s post. Both WRs, Chase and Tee, also took to X to express their feelings about finally signing the long-awaited contract. The Bengals WRs commented with a handshake emoji on Schultz’s post.

Cincinnati was facing a lot of heat for delaying Higgins and Chase’s extensions. The criticism grew louder when the Browns agreed on a $160M deal to make Myles Garrett stay. After Garrett’s extension, Chase posted a cryptic story on IG that many believed was directed toward the Cincinnati front office. In the story, the 25-year-old wrote, “Know your worth, then add tax.“
Ja’Marr was in the last year of his rookie contract worth $30.8 million when the Bengals exercised their fifth-year option while Chase was asking for an extension. As for Higgins, the Clemson alum played the 2024 season on a franchise tag. During the first week of March, Cincinnati placed another franchise tag on Tee for another year.
And now, both Tee and Chase have been handed their extensions.

Burrow’s duo stays intact: Ja’Marr Chase & Tee Higgins double threat
Well, it’s a huge day in Cincinnati. This must be the happiest Sunday of March for Bengals fans. For now, only Jordan Schultz has made the announcement. The Bengals are likely to announce the contract extensions and the details sometime this week. As per reports, both WRs have inked four-year extensions. LSU alum Ja’Marr signs an extension worth $161 million, making him the highest-paid non-QB in the league.
And as for Higgins, the 26-year-old has signed a deal worth $115 million. That makes a total of $276 million. It’s raining money in Cincinnati! Higgins has been on the Bengals squad since 2021 after the team drafted him 33rd overall that year. Tee’s Bengals signing reunited him with his college teammate Joe Burrow. Tee debuted in the pros the same year Burrow did, in 2020.
“I know that I’m going to do what it takes to get him back, and so is he. We’ve had those talks,” Burrow said about Tee. “Whenever a great player leaves, you wish you could have found a way to keep him. You don’t want to make a living out of letting great players leave the building. And I think that’s why you gotta do everything you can to get those deals done early,” added the QB.

Burrow earlier also stated he would restructure his contract if required to sign Tee and Ja’Marr’s extensions. In 2023, the QB inked a 5-year, $275M deal. Well, he did not have to restructure his contract for his top WRs’ extensions, but Joe did keep his word of not letting the duo leave the team.
