The 2025 NFL Draft is approaching steadily, and the QB buzz has got everyone hooked! In the draft game, it’s not just about stats, it’s about who moves the room when they walk in. And right now? That guy is Jalen Milroe. With 6,000+ career yards, 78 touchdowns, and a first-round buzz, he recently took the green room invite. Not just this, analysts believe that he will go in early. On the other hand, Shedeur Sanders, who was once a projected top pick, now faces a potential draft-night slide as Alabama’s Jalen Milroe rises up the boards.
On The Herd (April 8, 2025), NFL insider Jordan Schultz’s discussion was quite prompt in analysing the draft-day snub in the making. The NFL typically invites only top-20 projected picks to the green room, and Jalen Milroe accepted the green room invite in Green Bay. Indeed, it signals high interest as the Packers view him as a legitimate Day 1 pick. Jordan Schultz praised Jalen Milroe: “he is the best athlete arguably in the draft, he has a special combination of size, speed, athleticism.” Schultz also praised Milroe for his “strong arm” and his ability to tackle deep zone passes.
On the other hand, concerns are rife about Shedeur’s athletic capability. Moreover, he did not participate in combine drills. Shedeur also cancelled a meeting with the Titans, which, according to Schultz, is “not a red flag” but still points to his cooling QB market. Meanwhile, Schultz also remarks that Milroe has not received much attention in the past two months. The scouts have plenty of film to evaluate for both Shedeur and Milroe.

Sanders’ Pro Day was clean. His ceiling is as high as No. 2 or No. 3 overall, possibly with Cleveland or New York, or other potential landing spots such as New Orleans at 9 and Pittsburgh at 21. Schultz further added that while Shedeur is a good athlete, he is more of a pocket passer, not a run-first QB.
And now, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe is making a late surge. Daniel Jeremiah from the NFL Network even called Milroe an “elite, elite runner.” He took to compare Milroe to Anthony Richardson, who was the fourth pick in 2023. Moreover, Hondo Carpenter of the Las Vegas Raiders Insider podcast took to praise Milroe’s Combine interviews. Indeed, Milroe is getting late recognition, but he adds that he is cool with being underrated. But the green room invite from the Packers changes everything. Maybe he is not underrated anymore.
Milroe receives green room invite from Packers
Walking into the green room after receiving an invite from Green Bay, Schultz believes that Milroe is confident. And he adds that Milore will “not be going to the green room to maybe get the Will Levis treatment.” Will Levis, who was projected top-5 fell to Round 2. Schultz adds, “We’ve had a lot of these quarterbacks with a lot of hype… then they don’t end up going where they potentially thought they would.”

Besides Levis, he included names like Matt Corral, Malik Willis—where projected stars slid unexpectedly. But, this may not be the case with Milroe. Schultz further praised Milroe’s athletic profile, writing, “He is the best athlete, arguably, in the draft… a special combination of size, speed, athleticism,” with a size of 220 lbs and phenomenal speed of 4.3 40-yard dash.

What sets Milroe apart? Schultz highlights his deep ball accuracy and ability to “eat up zone coverage.” And what’s Schultz’s final verdict? He said, “I really like him. And I think he’s going to go higher than most people.” As he may possibly go to the top 20, Milroe’s rise could be the defining QB storyline.
